With rain falling over Normandy today, I’m imagining those beautiful late-summer afternoons in a French country house — a table set simply, good food, and nowhere else to be. There is something timeless about French shabby chic: worn linens, old ceramics and pieces with a little history, all brought together without trying too hard. Beauty in the imperfect, and elegance in the everyday.
