Pass the Tech

Pass the Tech We collect used laptops and donations in order to provide incoming university students in Mombosa, Kenya with computers. Our goal is 100 laptops per year.

We started out as a Development Communications class at AUP and chose to take on an assignment to collect computers and send them to Hatua Likoni, an NGO in Mambosa, Kenya which follows and supports students from secondary school to university. In completing the project we were challenged with the opportunity to create an organization to ensure the sustainability of this effort. We aim to send 100

used laptops to Mambosa each fall to make sure each student in the program will have a laptop to take to university. As global citizens, we acknowledge the needs in Mambosa and want to be part of the solution by mobilizing our diverse community of AUP alumni, faculty, and students. We will host an event to launch the initiative on 1 December and continue collecting these laptops on AUP’s campus specific days throughout the course of the academic school year. Our Goals:
1. Mobilize AUP community and organizations in Paris to donate their laptops
2. Support Kenyan students with technological resources
3. Raise awareness of the need for and benefit of technology in education in Kenya
