Everything has been made to get the best of your computer using hardware acceleration (graphic card processor, also called GPU) and using lower level APIs (like FFMPEG) to have more control on the movie playback, better frameworks (like Apple AVFoundation for cameras).

Look at the demonstration of the use of a LeapMotion to control a lighting scene using MadMapper. We developed a custom piece of software to do that. :-)
