You don't need to understand the code. You need to trust the people writing it.

If you've got a software idea but no technical background, the scariest part isn't the build. It's not knowing whether you're being looked after or taken for a ride.

Our job is to remove that fear. We explain things in plain English, not jargon. We tell you what AI can speed up and what it can't. And we build in a way that means you're never trapped, your software stays understandable and you're never held hostage by it.

You'll always know what you're paying for, why it matters, and what happens next.

Great software shouldn't require you to become a developer. It should just work, and so should the people building it.

Got an idea and not sure where to start? Send us a message, the first conversation is always free.

The cheapest software you ever buy is usually the most expensive thing you own.

We meet businesses all the time who got a system built fast and cheap, and are now stuck with it.

It works, until it doesn't. Nobody documented it. The person who built it is long gone. Every change is a gamble. Scaling it would mean rebuilding the lot.

Here's the uncomfortable maths: they're paying twice. Once for the original, and again to untangle it.

Good software isn't about clever code. It's about code a team can read, change and grow without holding their breath.

AI can absolutely speed up the build. But "fast" and "maintainable" only land together when someone who knows what they're doing is steering.

If you've inherited software you're scared to touch, that's a fixable problem. Message the page for a straight assessment.

5 signs your business has outgrown spreadsheets and manual processes.

The same data gets typed into three different places, and they never quite agree.
Only one person really understands "the system," and everyone panics when they're away.
Your team spends more time feeding the process than doing the actual work.
Mistakes are creeping in, and you're finding them too late.
You can't answer simple questions about your own business without an afternoon of digging.

If two or more of those sound familiar, the manual approach is now costing you more than a proper tool would. That's the tipping point we're built for.

Recognise a few of these? Let's talk about a simple system that fixes them. Message the Intellicore page.

A founder we worked with years ago just came back for a third build, across two exits.

We're delighted to be working with Visas2. It's a new engagement and also a reunion: founder Neil Thomson is no stranger to Intellicore. Years ago we built the technology stack for his previous business, The Visa Team, a platform that became a catalyst for its successful exit to Nomadic, a Fragomen company.

The story didn't end there. We went on to rebuild the technology for Nomadic, before handing the solution over to their internal teams following Nomadic's own acquisition by Fragomen.

Now, with Visas2, Neil has come back to Intellicore again.

That kind of return says something we care about more than any testimonial: clients who trust us to deliver, and then deliver again, through growth, through exits, and into whatever comes next.

This engagement looks a little different. Over the past couple of years we've been building a dedicated product for this space, and we're bringing it to bear for Visas2. More on that soon.

Off-the-shelf software is brilliant, right up until your business stops looking like everyone else's.

Most businesses should start with off-the-shelf tools. They're cheap, fast, and good enough early on.

The friction creeps in later. You're paying for 40 features and using 6. You're bending your process to fit the software instead of the other way round. And the workaround spreadsheet has quietly become the most important system in the company.

That's usually the moment bespoke earns its place, not before. When the thing that makes you different is the exact thing no off-the-shelf product supports.

The honest answer to "should we build or buy?" is almost always "buy first, build when the cost of not building gets too high."

Feeling that friction in your own business? Drop a comment below, or send us a message if you're ready for a straight view.

We built a platform for a marine industry client seven years ago.

It's still running. Still earning its place. Since then, the business has been acquired by Trexon, and more recently become part of Amphenol, one of the largest connector and sensor manufacturers in the world.

It's what happens when you get the brief right, build the right way, and refuse to cut corners.

The platform manages the full lifecycle of a work order: guiding assembly staff step by step, with quality checks at every stage and a structured process for handling non-conformances. It was built to scale with a growing business, and it did exactly that.

Our ongoing involvement is light-touch by design: the occasional feature request, and the kind of support that keeps a seven-year-old platform still worth having.

Longevity like that doesn't happen by accident.

If you've got processes that feel clunky, manual, or disconnected, there's probably a smarter way to do it.

16 years ago, Intellicore opened its doors as a small idea and a lot of ambition

A lot has changed since then. The logo. The team. The size of the projects we take on.

One thing hasn't: Richard Irvin, our first-ever client, is still on the books. This month, 16 years on, we kicked off a brand new project together.

We won't pretend every year was smooth. Software companies rarely are. But 16 years in, we're still here, still building, and still working with the people who backed us from day one.

Which era do you remember us from? Tell us in the comments.

Our first-ever client is still our client. 16 years later, we're starting something new together.

When Intellicore opened its doors in 2010, Irvin was the first name on the books. This month, 16 years on, we kicked off a new project together.

In software, that kind of longevity is rare enough to be worth pausing on. Systems get replaced. Suppliers get swapped. Agencies get outgrown.

16 years as someone's partner is earned, not signed - one delivered project at a time.

We'll share more about the new work as it takes shape. For now, here's to first clients who become old friends.

If your systems (or your current partner) aren't earning their place anymore, we should talk: https://www.intellicore.co.uk/forms/project-enquiry

Some products are dreamed up in a boardroom. This one was lived. 🏗️

Our founder grew up around property development - so much so that his first home wasn't a starter flat, it was a full-scale build. Years spent alongside architects and trades showed him the same thing on every project: the most exciting project of someone's life, slowly ground down by friction nobody intended.

Not bad architects. Not bad builders. A broken process in the spaces between them - the hand-offs, the decisions made without the right people in the room, the surprises discovered too late to be cheap.

Today, Pilotis Forms launches to fix that.

Built by our team in partnership with co-founder Kevin Crawford - 20+ years building architectural practices - it keeps everyone aligned on the decisions that matter, and engineers surprises out of the process.

We're proud of what we build. We're proudest when what we build comes from somewhere real.

Turns out we have a Richard Osman fan club we didn't know about. 📚

In June we ran an internal reading challenge at Intellicore: finish one book by the end of the month. Physical book, audiobook, comic, manga, even a magazine cover-to-cover, it all counted. The only rule? You had to share what you read (no test, we promised).

The Thursday Murder Club series took three of the five spots. The rest of us were fighting dungeon monsters and doing some heretical fishing.

Good software takes focus, creativity, and the occasional reminder that the best ideas often show up when you step away from the screen.

What's the best thing you've read lately? We're already taking recommendations for the next one.👇
