Not in the way you’re thinking (although, probably debatable if you know me 😂🤭)

The summer holidays are here! At the time of posting this, we haven’t booked a proper family holiday over the summer break this year for various reasons, which I won’t bore you with (all fine btw). So, I’ve decided to do summer a bit different this year… I’m going to be a T**T! I’m going to mainly be working on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays!

Tuesdays and Thursdays dedicated to client work 🖥️

Wednesdays for GommGomm shizzle – BTS stuff, admin and concentrating on some stuff I’ve been wanting to do on my business for AGES, that always seems to be a case of the cobblers shoes! So I’m ring fencing some time to JFDI ✏️🧠

Mondays and Fridays I’m switching off! 🥳☀️🤩

That way, everyone knows where we’re at! Of course, I’m sure things might move a little bit at times, but that’s the routine and boundaries I’m setting for myself this summer ☀️☀️

Hoping to book a week somewhere, but just in case we don’t, that’s how I’m organising my summer to keep on top of all the things.

Summer incoming!!!! ☀️ Two weeks left of school (eek!)… one’s already finished for the summer! (eek again!)

The next two weeks are jam-packed! Juggle juggle. How’s it looking for you all out there?!

I’m planning a slower work summer this year. The last few summers have been chokka with work deadlines and I entered September wondering what happened to the summer ‘holiday’ I had planned (I even cancelled going away a couple of times, silly me!) missing out on precious time with the kids. They’re getting to the age where they don’t want to hang out with me so much, so it feels especially poignant right now.

So, thinking back on those summers, this year I’m planning on doing it differently. As it stands at the moment, I’m taking a bit of time off to go camping at some point, then over the rest of the summer I’m going to be concentrating on client work two days a week, scheduling some time to do some BTS stuff for my business (I’ve coined the phrase ‘WOMB Days – Working On My Business’ days). Then, planning on taking Mondays and Fridays off! No doubt there will need to be a bit of flexibility in that, but really want to try and make that work this summer and set some boundaries for myself. It’s so easy when you work for yourself to be switched on all of the time! We all deserve some downtime so we can recharge those batteries, right?!!

Let’s see if I can keep that promise to myself, so I can enter the last bit of the year more refreshed and less frazzled than the last few years wondering where the summer disappeared to! Fingers crossed, the kids will want to hang out with me🤞

Saying all that, we’re starting a renovation very soon, which will no doubt fill our time and headspace, so I’m not quite sure what I’m thinking when I say that I’ll hopefully be more refreshed?!!! Wishful thinking hey?!

Last Thursday, myself and six other amazing women arrived in Malaga and driven to a gorgeous Finca in near Cómpeta for a retreat – I’ve never been on one before, so had no idea what to expect. I knew it was going to good, and I was so excited, but it really was so much more than I was expecting.

Brilliantly organised, a stunning location up in the hills with beautiful views, a pool, hot tub, a stunning pergola for our workshops, plus yoga and a sound bath for good measure! Oh, and three photoshoots from the brilliant who always makes it fun and helps you wear your brave pants in front of the camera!

The workshops run by were very emotional at points (I needed shares in Kleenex), but all ended on a good note – especially the last one!

The food at the Finca was absolutely delicious and had an amazing dinner out in Cómpeta town on the Friday night.

So many memories were made and just loved hanging out with all the Cómpeta Crew! I keep thinking about one of the things that Gemma said in one of her workshops: “what do I need right now?” – I think I can safely say “Let’s do it all again please!” ❤️

Thanks so much to Tanya and Gemma for organising this retreat soooooo well and bringing us all together for this really special trip.

Happy New Year to you!! 🥳✨🤩

So, it’s a brand new year, and I’ve really seen a trend this year of de-christmas’ing the house almost straight after the big day. Have you taken your tree down yet, or still needing the twinkly lights up? We’re enjoying a few more days of them and going to take everything down on Saturday ready for the Scouts tree collection 🎄✨ I always feel a bit sad to take them down.

For quite a few years now I’ve been designing the flyers and adverts for our local Scouts group, 1st Berkhamsted, for their annual Christmas tree collection.

Our youngest has attended the 1st Berkhamsted Scouts since he started in Beavers when he was around 6 or 7, he then became a Cub and now he’s a Scout (I’ve sneaked some photos in here of him helping too!). The Group have been so brilliant for our son over the years and the volunteers who run the Group do so much for them and the local community. The Christmas tree collection is their biggest fundraiser of the year, so I’m very happy to help each year.

I’m helping to collect the trees this Sunday with our youngest – it’s looking like a super cold one – around minus five degrees it seems!! 🥶🥶 Wish us luck! 🍀

The 🔥 will be lit tonight and will enjoy the twinkling lights of the tree for the next few evenings until next Christmas 🎄🎅🏻✨

So, are we going to get snow this week when the kids are back to school? ❄️☃️ It definitely looks like it’s getting cold, brrrr! 🥶

Gosh, how are we nearly at the end of 2025 already?! Where did this year go?! 🫣

Client work has been wrapped up for 2025 and my ‘OOO’ is officially on for the festive break 🥳🎄

This year has been a bit of a ride, so I’m planning on taking a well needed rest over the holidays. I’ll be back in the studio, hopefully well rested, and ready for all that 2026 throws at me on Tuesday 6th January 2026 (please be kind 2026!) 🤞

Elf duties to commence very soon and with plenty of festive cheer – very much helped along friends, family and the odd tipple of bubbles and Baileys no doubt, and of course the odd mince pie! 🥂🥧

Wishing you health, happiness and a very merry time over the Christmas break. I hope 2026 brings you all you could wish for ✨✨✨

Thank you to all my wonderful clients for keeping food in the bellies of our ever growing kids and keeping them warm and sheltered throughout the year. I’ve loved working and connecting with so many people this year. Thank you so much! 🥰

It’s that time of year again… panto season! 🎄🎅🏻✨

And this year, it’s Jack and the Beanstalk 🌱🐮

I was very lucky to be commissioned once again by the brilliant to design the logo and overall look and feel, before rolling it out across all their marketing collateral – flyers, adverts, posters and banners galore!

This one was all about magic, adventure and festive fun – with a big beanstalk climb thrown in for good measure 🌿☁️ I absolutely love working on panto branding; it’s such a joy to go all-out with colour, character and sparkle ✨

The Elgiva is such a lovely local, family-friendly theatre and their pantomimes are always fantastic – for kids and big kids alike. The kids (and me!) all love the ‘12 Days of Christmas’ song each year with ‘five toilet rolls!!it’s hilarious! 🧻🧻🧻🧻🧻🤣 Can’t wait to go and see it in the Twix’mas week! If you’re not too far from Chesham, I definitely recommend it! We’ve LOVED it over the years.

So chuffed to be part of another one of their Christmas productions.

Calling all Swifties 💖✨

I’ve recently been working with Rebecca from Joy Gift Publishing on some seriously fun gift books, and I’m so excited to finally share one of them!

The process has been a delight – starting with cover concepts, then sample spreads and eventually designing the whole book from start to finish.

Each project is all about finding that sweet spot between strong commercial appeal and thoughtful, eye-catching design (often on pretty tight timelines too!).

Okay, tiny proud moment incoming 🙈 (I’m not great at doing this!) but every single design I’ve submitted so far has been chosen and commissioned by the client – a 100% success rate! This one definitely feels worth celebrating 🥳

One of the books, In My Friendship Era, has just come back from the printers and is now in 🎉

It’s a 96-page hardback gift book with a subtle nod to Taylor Swift, all about celebrating friendship in a warm, relatable way. It’s packed with little meaningful moments, fun illustrations and that cosy, feel-good vibe you want in a gift book – perfect for anyone who treasures their friendships.

And yes… it’s VERY pink. Pink, pink, pink with some sprinklings of red 💕

Honestly? A great little book and such a joy to design.
