Our Tindie store is now up and running.

We use a lot of open source, and try to give back with a lot of open source, both software and hardware. Not the same league as the serious networking kit we sell (Firebrick), but a range of small, useful, circuit boards designs available for hobbyists. As you know, we have always been cautious on higher speed links. We want what we sell to always be good quality. So "over selling" is simply not a thing we ever try to do. We have faster links in to carriers now in lots of ways, but we need faster routers. We are working on this, and I expect there to be changes over the next few weeks one way or another. The big issue is the global chip shortage - we are actually making our own faster routers for this and are thwarted by the delays in chips. So please do bear with us on this. We'll be in touch with higher speed customers over this in due course. Things are finally happening, but slowly.

I'm sorry to say we are now finally spamming customers describing other broadband services they could get from us. Why? Ofcom mandate to do so. Very frustrating. If you get one of the emails, please do follow link to complain to Ofcom if it annoys you.
But happy to hear feedback, especially if you like the emails!

We have donated £2,940 to the Mozilla Foundation today.

We have done this in response to a tweet by ISPA UK nominating Mozilla for their "Internet Villain" award, a nomination we feel to be, to put it mildly, rather unfair.

Not just that, but a disappointingly confusing and arguably incorrect message about ISP responsibilities was dispensed by the very organisation meant to represent ISPs.

A&A is not a member of ISPA UK (and has not been for a number of years now). The amount we chose to donate to Mozilla is exactly what our membership of ISPA would have cost for the year.
