We’re calling employee of the year early this year… it’s another close one, but Jamie has just snuck through to win, again, securing his legacy as the most decorated Audiofix employee!

Audiofix will be closing for a while, we’re taking an extended break to go and explore the world!

I want to say a massive thank you to all of our customers over the last five years. I’ve serviced and repaired almost 1000 pieces of equipment for music lovers from all over the country - I appreciate you trusting me with your babies!

If anyone out there is interested in taking on the mantle of a profitable business with outstanding SEO then please get in touch! I’ll be in the workshop next week getting the last few pairs of 1210s finished up

Running a business is a wild ride, I’m very lucky to have a solid network of friends and family around me to enjoy the good times and endure the bad! A special mention has to go out to the NSL family for letting me rent my workshop and for being all round legends

Here’s a recent one from a customer who wanted to crank their SL-1200 up to 11.

Full tonearm rewire with silver litz wiring, removable RCA mod installed, Korf ceramic headshell and an AT33Sa MC cartridge. High end business! What do you think?

Here’s a lovely example of a near pristine Technics SL-1200MK2. Fully serviced, a few new parts and hooked up with a Grado Prestige Black 3 as requested by the customer. What a beauty!

Happy Friday everyone!

Here’s an increasingly rare find for you.. consecutive serial numbers on this pair of 1210s at the workshop.

You can use the serial number on a Technics SL-1210/1200 to establish its age. This pair were produced in February 1996, one after the other and have spent their entire 27 years of life together!

To give that some context for any non believers of how rad that is, imagine their hypothetical journey …

They were both produced in Japan 27 years ago, serialised, tested, quality checked and boxed up. Loaded into a container, loaded onto a ship, ferried over the the UK probably via Europe, back on to a lorry, off to a distribution warehouse, driven to a music shop, sold to their first owner, changed hands who knows how many times, maybe in and out of clubs, fields and raves, eventually sold to their current owner 5 years ago and have managed to stay together that entire time.

Pretty epic journey I say!

A classic set up! Technics SL-1210MK2 and a Pioneer DJM-500. Well used and well loved, Customer recently dusted them out of storage for a full service and restoration. Ready to go again!

Things that you don’t want to go bump in the night… your 1210s! This one had a wee accident and landed upside down. The tonearm was pretty mangled- damage to the bearings, gimbal bracket, arm tube and arm base which also destroyed part of the antiskate mechanism.

Good job tonearm repairs are something we do pretty damn well 👌
