✨ 44 years of Top Girls ✨

Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls first arrived on stage in 1982 and has since become one of the defining British plays of its generation.

Behind every production is equipment working through rehearsals, performances, get-ins and get-outs.

trackingThis lets technical teams schedule recurring inspections against individual assets, record the result when a check is completed and automatically calculate when it needs inspecting again.

One less date to keep in your head.

Let’s make it easier.

✨ 11 years of People, Places & Things

On 25 August 2015, People, Places & Things began its first run at the National Theatre, with Denise Gough in the role that would later win her an Olivier Award.

Behind a production like this, hundreds of individual pieces of equipment can have their own checks, repairs and servicing requirements.

With trackingThis, teams can scan a QR label and see the record for that asset there and then, including previous inspections, maintenance history and supporting documents.

No hunting for the spreadsheet that hopefully has the latest version.

Let’s make it easier.

✨ Private Lives celebrates its 96th anniversary ✨

On 18 August 1930, Noël Coward’s Private Lives had its world premiere at the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh, with Coward himself starring alongside Gertrude Lawrence and a young Laurence Olivier.

From Edinburgh, the production travelled through Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Southsea before opening in London, beginning a theatrical life that has lasted nearly a century.

Touring a production means keeping track of equipment as it moves, making sure it’s available when it’s needed and keeping inspections and maintenance up to date along the way.

trackingThis keeps asset records, bookings, locations, inspection history and schedules together. The Monday morning compliance email also flags anything missing, due or overdue, giving technical teams a clear view of what needs attention that week.

A dark period can mean hundreds of very small jobs.

Cleaning and retagging XLRs. Checking IEC and Socapex cables. Servicing moving heads. Testing microphones. Cleaning rack filters. Inspecting shackles, slings and other lifting kit.

The work itself is manageable. Remembering exactly what’s been done across all of it is where things get messy.

With trackingThis, a technician can scan the label on the item, record the clean, inspection or repair there and then and flag anything that needs another look.

So when you get to the end of the shutdown, you can actually see which kit is ready to go back into use and which jobs are still outstanding.

Because “I’m pretty sure we checked that one” isn’t much of a maintenance record.

Let’s make it easier.

100+ Chromebooks moving between classrooms.
Chargers separated from devices.
Trolleys coming back incomplete.
Laptops and keys assigned to staff with no record.
Broken kit sitting in cupboards because nobody logged it.
Equipment borrowed last-minute with no idea who has it.

Sound familiar?

We built a practical way for schools to get control of it:

📅 Book shared devices in advance
📲 Check equipment in and out
⚠️ Log missing, damaged or incomplete kit
📍 See what the school owns and where it is
♻️ Keep a clear record of WEEE disposals and retired equipment
🔧 Flag what needs repairing, replacing or following up

For schools managing hundreds of devices with limited ICT resource, less time chasing missing kit, and no more working off a spreadsheet that was out of date the moment someone printed it.

Tomorrow, Edinburgh becomes one giant theatre.

258 venues.
3,649 shows.
53,884 performances.

That’s a lot of Soca cables, multicores, shackles, round slings and production equipment to keep checked, in date and in the right place.

The audience remembers the show.
The team has to remember everything else.
That’s where trackingThis comes in.

Let's make it easier.

In case you missed it, recently shared four ways to keep on top of inspections, repairs and maintenance work during a dark period.

Here’s the full rundown. 👇🏼

🏷️ Day 1: Give every asset a QR code

Stick a label on every light, console, rack, piece of rigging and portable tool. Your team can scan it to confirm the asset, update its location, record inspections and log repairs as the work happens.

📅 Day 2: Set a schedule for every asset

Add annual inspections, six-monthly cleans and routine servicing against each asset, with reminders before the work is due.

🛠️ Day 3: Record the work as it happens

Log repairs, notes, photos and anything that needs following up while the work is being completed, rather than relying on someone to update the records later.

📊 Day 4: Check what still needs attention

Use reports to see what is overdue, what remains unresolved and what needs to be completed before the venue reopens.

Whether you’re going fully dark or simply using a quieter period to catch up, a clearer maintenance process helps make sure nothing gets missed.

Is your theatre heading into maintenance period while your asset records are still stuck in a shared spreadsheet?

When lanterns, cables, speakers and microphones come down for cleaning, PAT testing and repairs, every update needs to stay with the right piece of kit.

If you're still managing your gear in a spreadsheet, you could be wasting time and money that should be going back into your crew, your events, your venue or your business.

We sweat the small admin stuff, leaving you to dream big.
