Structured cabling gets misunderstood more than almost any other part of a network. Here are 5 myths we hear all the time:

1️⃣ "Any cable will do"
Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a. They're not interchangeable. The wrong spec limits speed, restricts PoE performance and causes problems that are expensive to trace and fix later.

2️⃣ "It only needs to last a few years"
Structured cabling typically outlasts every other piece of network hardware on site. Get it right and it's still performing in 25 years. Get it wrong and you're rewiring long before then.

3️⃣ "We can install it ourselves"
Unmanaged cable runs, incorrect terminations and no certification aren't just untidy — they're a liability. Without proper testing and documentation, there's no warranty and no proof the installation meets spec.

4️⃣ "It's all the same underneath"
Installation quality varies enormously. Cable management, containment, termination quality and testing all separate a proper install from one that just about works on day one.

5️⃣ "We'll upgrade it when it becomes a problem"

Most Wi-Fi problems aren't fixed because the wrong thing gets blamed. Here are 5 myths about business Wi-Fi we hear all the time:

1️⃣ "It's the internet provider's fault"
In most cases it isn't. Slow speeds and dropped connections usually trace back to the cabling infrastructure, access point placement or network design.

2️⃣ "More access points means better coverage"
Not if they're in the wrong place. Poorly positioned APs create interference and dead zones. Coverage comes from design, not quantity.

3️⃣ "Consumer-grade kit is fine for a small office"
It isn't. Business environments have higher device density, different security requirements and need proper PoE infrastructure. Consumer hardware wasn't built for it.

4️⃣ "Wi-Fi surveys are only for big sites"
A professional Ekahau survey is just as valuable for a ten-person office as a warehouse. Getting placement right first time costs far less than fixing it later.

5️⃣ "The cabling doesn't affect Wi-Fi speed"
