How long does it take to build a website?
It's one of the most common questions we get. And the honest answer is - it depends.
But let's break that down into something actually useful.
A straightforward small business website: 2β4 weeks
A clean, professional site with 5β8 pages - home, about, services, contact and so on. This is the sweet spot for most small businesses in Cardiff, Caerphilly and South Wales. Enough to look great and do the job, without unnecessary complexity.
A more bespoke or content-heavy site: 4β8 weeks
More pages, more functionality, custom features, or a larger amount of content to write and organise. Still very achievable, just needs a bit more time to do properly.
E-commerce or complex functionality: 8+ weeks
Online shops, booking systems, membership areas - anything with more moving parts takes longer to plan, build, and test thoroughly.
What affects the timeline most?
The biggest factor, by a long way, is how quickly content is ready. Copy, images, logos, and information about your services all need to be in place before a site can be finished. The clearer and more prepared you are, the faster the process moves.
At Pob Design, we guide you through exactly what we need and when, so the process stays on track from day one.
