What a night! 🥂 ✨

We’re incredibly proud to share that we took home not one, but two awards at the Cornwall’s Rewind Radio Business Awards last Friday.

Jacob was named Cornwall’s Rising Star, sponsored by Truro and Penwith College, recognising emerging talent helping shape the future of Cornwall’s business landscape. Aztek was also named Employer of the Year, sponsored by Sekoya Specialist Employment Services, celebrating organisations that place people at the heart of what they do.

It was a brilliant evening at Tregenna Castle, with great food, entertainment and a room full of supportive people cheering on every nominee.

There’s a phishing campaign doing the rounds that doesn’t use email at all.

Instead, attackers are contacting people directly on LinkedIn with messages that look legitimate, such as job opportunities, business projects, or a “relevant” document to download.

The file appears harmless. But once it’s opened, malicious code can run quietly in the background, giving the attacker access to your device.

Tech tip: Treat links and attachments on LinkedIn and other social platforms the same way you treat unexpected emails. If you weren’t expecting it, don’t click it.

A UK water company has been fined nearly £1 million after a cyber attack exposed the personal data of over 633,000 people.

It all started with a single phishing email. From there, attackers were able to sit undetected in the network for almost two years before moving through systems and gaining full access. By the time they were detected, highly sensitive data, including personal details and bank information, had already been stolen and published on the dark web.

So what went wrong?
👉 Outdated systems
👉 Limited monitoring
👉 Unpatched vulnerabilities
👉 A lack of basic security controls

This is exactly why keeping systems updated and properly secured matters. That means moving away from outdated software, like upgrading to Windows 11, and training your team to spot a phishing email.

𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭: A device can appear to run perfectly while still being exposed to serious security risks. Unless you’ve paid for the extra year of support (which runs until October 2026), Windows 10 is no longer supported by Microsoft. That means no security updates or patches, leaving your device and data at risk. Cyber criminals are aware of this and actively look for these gaps to gain access to unsecured systems.
