🚴 Richard is taking on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride!

On 13 September, our Managing Director, Richard Caton, will be cycling 55 miles from London to Brighton to raise money for Together for Cinema CIC.

Together For Cinema's main focus is to work with the Audio Visual (AV) industry to design and install home cinema rooms in children’s hospices and other deserving family care locations across the UK. These rooms not only benefit the children and young adults, but also their families, carers, staff and volunteers.

The right thermostat in the right place.

The latest Polar Bear firmware, together with our Control4 and Crestron Home integrations, now supports virtual thermostats, providing greater flexibility and the opportunity to reduce system costs.

But choosing virtual thermostats everywhere isn't always the best answer.

🏠 Underfloor heating?
A room with underfloor heating only is often an ideal candidate. Because underfloor heating responds slowly, occasional adjustments from a phone or touch panel feel completely natural.

🌡️ Fast-response heating and cooling?
Rooms with air conditioning, trench heaters or radiators behave very differently. Clients generally expect to walk into the room and adjust the temperature immediately, making a well-positioned physical thermostat the more intuitive choice.

💡 These decisions matter early.
Choosing where to install physical controls—and where virtual controls make sense—can reduce installation costs while creating a better everyday experience for the homeowner.

🎨 Climate control is part of the interior design.

Another Crestron Certified Programmer at Janus!

We're delighted to congratulate Matthew Faupel, our CTO, on achieving his Crestron Certified Programmer certification. The certificate recognises the successful completion of the Crestron Certified Programmer requirements.

Matthew now joins Daniel and Tom, giving Janus three Crestron Certified Programmers within our development team.

Whilst many people see the drivers and integrations we release, a huge amount of the work happens behind the scenes. Matthew has led the development of a significant part of our core software libraries, development framework and continuous integration (CI) systems that allow us to efficiently develop, test and maintain software across a growing range of OEM partners and projects.

That investment in our development platform is one of the reasons we're able to deliver high-quality integrations for manufacturers while continuing to innovate across Control4, Crestron Home and the wider smart building ecosystem.

We'll be attending Crestron Masters later this year and are looking forward to catching up with fellow developers, sharing ideas and seeing what's next for the Crestron platform.

It's an exciting time for software development. As we continue to invest in our own frameworks and embrace AI-assisted development, we're finding new ways to deliver better solutions, faster, while maintaining the engineering quality our partners expect.
