Apologies for going quiet lately — we've been flat out building five brand new websites. And not small ones either.

While that's been going on, the ongoing client work has been throwing up some results we're genuinely proud of.
The Lakes Planner (thelakesplanner.co.uk) has had a remarkable week — keywords up 58% and traffic up 125% in seven days. It's honestly one of the most rewarding projects I've ever worked on.
Another client site — 47 pages — launched and picked up 3,000 impressions and 4 ranking keywords in its first week alone. Average position moved from 78 to 33 in seven days. That's the kind of early traction that tells you the foundations are right.

"How long until I see results from SEO?"

It's the question every business asks — and the honest answer is one most people don't want to hear: longer than you'd like.

Here's a real example. This is the Google Search performance for a brand-new website we've been building — The Lakes Planner, a guide to the Lake District.

Look at the shape of it. 👇

For the first two months? Almost nothing. A flat line. If you'd panicked at week 2, or even at month 2, you'd have concluded it wasn't working and given up.

Then mid-June, it takes off. Impressions climbing, clicks arriving every single day, and the line is STILL going up.

Nothing magic changed in June. It's the same site, same approach — consistent, patient work every week. What changed is that Google started to trust it. That trust is earned, and it's earned slowly.

The lesson: SEO on a new site isn't a switch you flip. It's a curve. Flat, flat, flat… then it compounds. The businesses that win are the ones still standing when the compounding kicks in.

If you launched a site last month and you're staring at zero — this is normal. Keep going. The results come to those who don't quit at the flat bit.

🤖 I tested 4 AI blog writing tools so you don't have to.
Jasper. Surfer SEO. Marblism. Soro.
Each one promised to save time, rank on Google, and produce content at scale. I ran the same briefs through all four and watched closely.

Here's what I actually found:
❌ Loads of words — zero intent
❌ American spellings on UK briefs
❌ Keywords mentioned but never targeted properly
❌ Content that covers topics without actually helping anyone
❌ Nothing Google would rank, nothing a customer would read twice
