Like most people, for a long time, on the outside, my life looked fine. I was managing work, family, home, responsibilities.
• I was capable. Dependable.
• The one who kept things moving.
• The one others could rely on.
And I did rely on myself — probably more than anyone else ever did.
But underneath, I was exhausted.
Not just tired in my body but weary in my sense of self. Somewhere along the way — between caring for others, meeting expectations, juggling work, housework, relationships, and the emotional load that comes with mid life — I began to lose touch with who I was.
• I wasn’t falling apart.
• I wasn’t in crisis.
• I was functioning… but muted.
And that made it harder to name what was wrong.
There were days when I felt invisible in my own life. Days when I could tell something needed to change, but I didn’t have the space, language, or permission to even ask what that change might be.
I remember thinking:
“Is this it?”
“Is this what the rest of my life looks like?”
What made it more confusing was that I was grateful for my life — and still felt that something was missing inside it. I loved my family. I cared about my work. And yet, I felt stretched thin, split between roles, and disconnected from myself.
That’s when I realised something important:
• So many people like me were carrying this quietly.
• Mid lifers balancing work and family. Supporting older parents and younger children.
Holding households together.
Being strong, sensible, and capable — while slowly losing their identity.
• People who didn’t feel “broken enough” to ask for help, but who were deeply aware that they’d stopped growing, dreaming, and unfolding.
My turning point wasn’t dramatic. It was gentle — it was honest, it was a reminder.
I began to give myself space to reflect, to question, and to listen to what I had been pushing aside. I learned that I didn’t need to burn my life down to rebuild it. I didn’t need fixing. I needed room to reconnect with myself — to unfold again.
And from that place, Unfold & Fly was born.
I created Unfold & Fly for people like me — capable, overwhelmed, mid life individuals who are doing everything “right” on the outside but feel lost, tired, or disconnected on the inside.
It’s for those who are ready to stop surviving and start consciously choosing how they want to live the next chapter of their lives.
This isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering and reclaiming who you already are.
I believe mid life isn’t a narrowing — it’s an opening.
And when we create the space to unfold, we can finally fly.
Ready to unfold?
