Recently whilst PAT Testing, we came across a cable which had tape wrapped around it in attempt to hide damage.

🚫 We removed the tape to find exposed wires which can cause SERIOUS risks including fire hazards and electric shock
🚫 This appliance was therefore a visual fail

🚫 This was therefore a visual fail as it removes a protection mechanism, creating risk of electric shock
✅We then replaced this plug during the visit so the appliance can instantly be used again

🚫 As shown in the before image, there was exposed wire on the cable which can cause severe electric shocks and even risk of fires.
✅We then rewired this cable so the equipment could be used safely.

Whilst PAT Testing in a car garage, we had to fail an item during the visual inspection.

🚫 As shown in the before image, tape was placed over the cable in attempt to hide the damage, however bandaging the cable isn’t a safe solution.
✅We then repaired this cable so the equipment could be used safely
