🚨 URGENT WARNING: Fake DVLA Email Scam Targeting Our Area 🚨
From CWC Computers

A quick alert for anyone in Chard, the surrounding towns, villages, and neighbouring counties — a very convincing fake DVLA vehicle tax renewal email is doing the rounds. I received one myself this morning, so please be on your guard.

The email looks extremely official, even using GOV.UK-style branding, and claims your vehicle tax is overdue. It includes a green “Update Now” button urging you to renew immediately.

Here are the key red flags:

🔹 The sender is not a genuine DVLA address
🔹 It uses vague greetings like “Dear Vehicle Owner”
🔹 It pressures you to act urgently
🔹 The link leads to a non-government website (always hover to check!)

If anything like this lands in your inbox, don’t click the link and don’t enter any details. Delete the message straight away.

A couple of reminders:

✔ The DVLA will not email you asking for urgent payments
✔ Genuine vehicle tax renewals happen only through the official gov.uk website
