Multisensor Systems Ltd is a developer & supplier of monitors for detection of VOCs and THMs in water & air.

The instruments are used by water utilities industrial companies & environmental agencies. Multisensor Systems started life in the University of Manchester. The company was the brainchild of Professor Krishna Persaud, an acknowledged authority in the development of sensors for the detection of gases. The original development was for an instrument to detect heavy organic loads in waste water, allowing treatment works to respond to the loading with changes in dosing or storage of waste until it could be processed. This was followed by an instrument to detect very low concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in clean water to protect drinking water treatment plants. This instrument became the MS1000 which Multisensor ships today. The success of the MS1000 caused the University of Manchester Intellectual Property (UMIP) company to inject seed funding and establish Multisensor Systems Ltd as an entity in 2007. In 2009, with sales increasing there then became the need for full time management and support staff and so the company sought funding to take it to the next stage of development. This funding was won in March 2010 and the first staff employed. The company moved from the University campus at the end of August 2010 to premises in the South of Manchester. Now the company is broadening it's offering to on line THM measurement in the water distribution network and widening the application base for its products and the geographical markets in which it sells.

Showcasing our Oil in Water and THM analysers at this exhibition was a great way to educate customers on the benefits of:
- a THM analyser that does not use reagents and
- an oil in water monitor that is not affected by turbidity

all thanks to our contactless measurement technique based on Henry's Law.

It was a great honor to be in Chile last week with Yalitech Instruments at the XXVIII Jornadas de Calidad de Aguas y Control de Procesos (https://lnkd.in/deMEZGAu) organised by AIDIS Chile, a great event in Chile on water quality, challenges and solutions.

It was particularly interesting to see how the awareness of the problems associated with in water increases by the day and how some emerging parameters, such as , are getting higher and higher on the agenda on water companies worldwide.

What an incredibly valuable two days at the Produced Water Conference - UK Edition!

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with leading produced water experts, gain deep insights into the North Sea landscape and discuss the future trends shaping the industry.

A huge thank you to the organizers for giving us the opportunity to present our technology and share our latest case studies. The feedback and insights we received on how to bridge our water industry expertise into the O&G sector were incredibly valuable.

One of my biggest takeaways was how critically important Oil-in-Water (OiW) online monitoring is becoming for both asset protection and preventive maintenance. Enhancing instrumentation and delivering high-quality data is essential not only for operational success but also for protecting both current and future deployments.

As we proceed with more and more installations of the MS1200-S Oil in Water analyser in the UK and abroad, these are the main improvements that customers appreciate compared with the previous versions:

1) Better interface: all the data is easily accessible, from VOC concentration, to temperature, airflow and humidity

2) Easier data download in CVS format on a USB stick

3) Higher accuracy: thanks to the reduced electrical noise and improved sensor management

4) Easier and more compact installation

Thanks to these and other improvement, our MS1200-S has really become almost a plug-and-play oil in water analyser that allows for continuous measurement of VOCs at water intakes, effluent discharges and other critical points.
