🔋 Swollen Laptop battery 🔋
A customer dropped this laptop off with us as it would only work when plugged into the mains.
After running diagnostics and carrying out our checks, we found the battery had swollen quite badly. We immediately removed the battery and contacted the customer to let them know.
Swollen batteries can be caused by age, heat, overcharging or the battery cells simply failing.
If left, they can cause damage by pushing against the keyboard, trackpad, casing and other internal components. In more serious cases, a swollen lithium battery can also become a fire risk.
If your laptop only works when plugged in, the casing is starting to separate, or something doesn’t look quite right, it’s always worth getting it checked.
