✅ Here are some technical services we recommend that you auto-renew to avoid losing information like photographs from your mobile phone, laptop, computer, or tablet.

📈 Prices do increase from time to time, but you'll receive an email first to let you know.

🛒 The reason you should auto-renew is that these aren't services you can usually shop around with different providers for.

When you first purchase your new laptop or PC, you will have antivirus software installed - this is used to keep your computer safe.

You either get a 30-day trial or 1 year of cover included. As part of the sign-up, you will put your card details in and pay.

Because you have done this, the provider will automatically take a payment the next year and the prices often go up.

I always recommend to my clients that you switch off this auto-renewal.

This helps you to stay in control over whether you want to stay with your existing antivirus software provider or switch to a different provider when your cover runs out.

Often, you can save money by using a voucher which is cheaper than the online price.

Friendly reminder: keep your data safe 🔐

Keeping your personal data safe is really important.

Things to look out for:

✅ Check who is sending the email - most organisations use professional email addresses, so a personal email address could signal a scam
✅ You can normally tell by the language used - it might not be spelt correctly
✅ Sense of urgency – do they need it urgently?
✅ Check the link – does it match the proper website address?
✅ Listen – do they pause before speaking? If there's a delay, there could be something suspicious about the call.
✅ What they ask for - never provide personal details, like bank details, over the phone.

You only get 5GB of storage for free, and running low on storage can affect your phone’s functionality and performance.

Buying 50GB of storage costs just £1 a month to keep your memories safe.

You can either link your bank card to your account and it comes out monthly.

If you worry about your card details, you buy an Apple voucher from a supermarket and pay using that instead.
