Dubshack motorsport 🏁

Meet DubShack Motorsport in Longton. 162 Google reviews, 4.9 stars... and until last month, no website 😅 If you wanted to find them, it was Facebook or nothing.

These lads are BMW, Audi and Mercedes specialists, and they build and race their own car. So when they tell you a part’s going to fail, it’s because it’s already failed on them first. You can’t fake that, and it’s exactly what the new site leads with.

Being a bit of a racing team ourselves, this one was a proper joy to build. It’s dark and moody, styled around their own M-stripe livery, and full of their real workshop photos (not a stock image in sight). Their Google reviews pull through live too, so it keeps itself fresh without anyone lifting a finger.

And their Google listing finally has somewhere to send people 👏

📦 Empty storage units? We filled all 44.

When Lock Safe Storage opened in Norton, it was an empty yard with no name, no website and no reviews. We built the lot: the brand, a website where customers book and pay online, local SEO, Google Ads and “now open” leaflets through local doors.

The first six months? 11 containers let. Not bad, not great.

So we dug into the bookings, and the marketing wasn’t the problem. People were finding the yard just fine. The price was higher than the yards down the road, and storage is easy to compare.

Once the price matched the local market, 28 more containers went in seven months 🚀 Today all 44 are let, plus a new 10ft range on top.

Security notice: PHP vulnerability

On Tuesday 20 October, two critical security vulnerabilities in PHP became public. PHP is the software that powers WordPress and most small business websites, and both flaws are rated 9.2 out of 10 for severity.

Within 24 hours, and before the official fix was released, we:

• Audited every website we host and manage, recording the PHP version each one runs
• Upgraded older websites to a supported version of PHP, testing each one afterwards
• Removed unused copies of websites from our servers
• Contacted each of our hosting providers to confirm when the fix would be applied
• Checked that every website was online and working

The fix was released this afternoon and is now being applied by our hosting providers. We’re monitoring every website until it’s confirmed as updated. There is no charge to our clients for this work.

If your website is managed elsewhere, we’d recommend asking your web provider which version of PHP it runs. Versions 8.1 and earlier won’t receive this fix.

Another one for the print series; we’re delighted to share our latest work for Covenco: The Executive Guide to Backup & Recovery.

Covenco are enterprise data management and infrastructure specialists and an IBM partner. They protect and recover business-critical data for organisations where downtime simply isn’t an option. When a client like that trusts you with a flagship publication, the work has to match their reputation.

The content is written by Covenco’s own specialists and goes deep. It covers ransomware resilience, NIS2 and DORA compliance, the 3-2-1-1-0 rule, and dedicated recovery guidance for ten sectors, from education and healthcare to banking, insurance and manufacturing. Our role was to support the design and take the publication through to print, so that expertise reaches the boardroom in the best possible form.

Vehicle Livery: Staffordshire Solar LTD ☀️🚐

Three brand new Kia PV5s, all lettered up and on the road for Staffordshire Solar. One silver, one black, one green, and one livery that works on all three.

That was the challenge 🎯 When a fleet comes in three different colours, it's easy to end up with three vans that look like they belong to three different companies. We kept the layout, lettering and amber sun logo exactly the same on every van, so whichever one pulls up outside your house, you know who it is.

It suits the job too ⚡ A fully electric fleet for a company that installs solar panels, EV chargers and battery storage. The vans make the point before anyone says a word.

The project included:

✅ Livery design for the Kia PV5 body, worked around its panel lines and curves
✅ One layout adapted to silver, black and green base colours
✅ Services listed clearly on both sides and the rear doors: Solar PV, EV Chargers, Battery Storage
✅ NICEIC Approved Contractor and MCS Certified badges placed where homeowners will see them
✅ Website, email and social icons on every side
✅ Application across all three vans, ready for handover at Burton Kia 🔑

For a solar installer, the van often makes the first impression 🏡 It's parked on a driveway all day while the team is up on a roof, and every neighbour on the street sees it. A clean, consistent livery with the right accreditations on show does a lot of selling before the quote even arrives.

Brand, Livery and Website: Exley Transport 🔵

We've just launched a brand-new website for Exley Transport, a licensed bulk haulage contractor based in Stoke-on-Trent. We also designed the brand and the fleet livery, so this one runs all the way through.

That matters more than it sounds. The blues on the website were pulled straight out of the logo artwork, and the arrow marking every section of the site is the same arrow that sits on the side of the trucks. The site reads blue and white because the fleet does. Brand, livery and website built as one piece, rather than three jobs handed to three different people.

Exley run walking floor, tipper and general haulage nationwide from two bases, hold a Standard National operator licence and are an upper-tier registered waste carrier. The site needed to carry that weight.

The project included:

🎨 Fleet livery design, carried across the vehicles
🖥️ A dedicated page for each service, structured to rank on its own
📄 A documents hub for licences, insurance and compliance paperwork
✅ Licence and waste carrier numbers verified against the public registers, not copied off a brochure

The parts you cannot see took the longest. Analytics that ask permission before setting a cookie, a privacy policy that describes what the site actually does, Defra digital waste tracking readiness written into the copy, and a proper 404 page so Google never gets handed the homepage by mistake.

For a haulage business, a website is a credibility check. Transport managers and procurement teams look for the licence numbers, the insurance and the paperwork before they look at anything else. Put all of that in one place, behind a brand that already looks established on the road, and the enquiry gets a lot easier.
