Microsoft Windows 11 confirmed it provided BitLocker encryption keys to the FBI for a fraud investigation. Windows backs up recovery keys to Microsoft's cloud by default, making them accessible via legal orders.

The 2025 Guam case (where Microsoft complied with the FBI) is legally significant for the UK because of the UK-US Data Access Agreement.
• This agreement allows UK law enforcement to request data directly from US-based tech companies (like Microsoft and Meta) without going through the slow "Mutual Legal Assistance" process.
• If the UK police believe your BitLocker-encrypted laptop contains evidence of a crime, they don't even have to ask you for the key; they can serve the warrant to Microsoft in the US, and Microsoft (following their now-confirmed policy) would likely provide the cloud-stored key.

The UK is currently in a "Memory Crisis." Huge AI data centres are opening across the country, and they are hoovering up all the memory chips. Manufacturers are focusing on these big corporate deals, leaving very little for our home PCs and gaming rigs.
Quick Tip: If you're building a new PC, look for "bundles" or consider slightly older (but still great) tech. The price for a single stick of high-end DDR5 RAM is now higher than some CPus.

The Bitcoin rush, which has been driving graphics card prices higher, is slowing down. Now the new gold rush is here Ai.

It’s smaller than you think! 🔬 Looking under the microscope at an iPad Power Management Chip. To the naked eye, it’s a tiny speck—but underneath, there are over 200 microscopic solder joints that have to be perfectly connected.
One drop can crack a joint and kill the power, but we have the tools to bring it back from the dead. Precision work to keep another device out of the landfill! 🛠️♻️

Enhancing Security and Reliability for Repair Track
Hi everyone,
As many of you know, I’ve been hard at work developing a new, streamlined ticket system for the shop. While my goal is to keep things simple, security is my top priority.
To ensure maximum protection for our users, I’ve updated the login process. The system now requires both the last 5 digits of the ticket and the registered phone number. I’ve tested several configurations—including randomized IDs—but this two-factor approach offers the "double-sure" security our clients deserve.
I’ll admit, we hit a small speed bump this morning. Despite a late night finishing the build, the system encountered an issue at launch. I was disappointed, but I’m happy to report that I implemented a fix within 40 minutes, and ticket logging has been running smoothly ever since.
Repair Track is evolving rapidly, and I’m proud of how quickly it’s adapting. Thank you all for your continued support and for following these updates. Your encouragement truly means a lot to me.
