📣 Small business owners! Here are the key takeaways from today’s 💼🍂

📌 Minimum wage rates rise by 3.9% from 1st April 2027: pay for over-20s rises to £13.21 per hour, pay for those aged 18 to 20 rises to £11.27 per hour.
📌 The mileage rate rise to 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles has been made permanent, and the higher mileage rate will rise from 25p to 35p per mile from 6th April 2027.
📌 Trading allowance - the tax-free allowance for individuals who make income from self-employment - will be tripled from £1k to £3k from 6th April 2027.
📌 In England, the threshold for Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) increases from £12k to £18k for the retail, hospitality and leisure (RHL) sectors from April 2027, and business rates bills for RHL businesses will be frozen for two years.
📌 Statutory parental pay introduced from April 2029 for self-employed dads, same-sex partners and adopters.
📌 A raft of support for founders: including a new Young Entrepreneurs Allowance, support for female founders and a new Founders’ Relief.

And finally… 🥁 self-employed people and landlords joining MTD for Income Tax from 6th April 2027 won’t receive penalty points for late submission of their first four quarterly updates.
