We will be hosting the Sullivan Family tomorrow with a Gaming Party for their son Joseph's birthday.

How much storage do I need?

This one is a common question for us, and with storage prices climbing, it's an important one!

Dave @ Hybrid is terrible for never uninstalling a game, so here's a snapshot from his Steam library.

92 Games have taken up 1,500 GB for an average of 16GB per game. Don't forget that Windows also needs at least 100GB but really closer to 200GB.

The figures below give you a rough idea of what's needed

500GB drive = 15-20 games
1000GB drive = 40-60 games
2000GB drive = 100-120 games

We achieved our level 2 Disability Confident certification! 🥳🥳

When we enrolled in this scheme, it was to ensure that we were on the right path for our team. We wanted to demonstrate that what's normal for us day to day was a great working environment for everyone here at team Hybrid.

We are delighted to both achieve the level 2 certification and to say that we have been encouraged to follow up and aim for the level 3 leader certification. As a small business, it's easy to think that being a leader in something is what the big companies do; however, those roots that you set down when small almost always translate into behaviours when you are much bigger.

We are celebrating our level 2 today and have submitted our business for the leadership certification!

Refurbished gaming PC's

We are getting a lot of asks about our refurbished PC range and the short answer is we love building a refurbished PC. It saves you money and let's us solve a budget challenge at the same time.

We are a little different than most refurbished PC sellers however ; here's the 3 main reasons why

1. We almost always use brand new cases. if you see the word "pristine" it means your refurbished PC will come in a brand new box! you'll really struggle to tell that it is not brand new!

2. You get a full 12 months warranty. We refurbish these ourselves and use the same stress tests as we use on new systems. Our failure rate on our PC's is 0.026% over the last 5 years.

3. Warranty & Support to us means getting you playing your games or using your apps. Stuck with a Fortnite patch? we help with that too!

Demand for these is huge and we almost always have parts that we have not built yet so if you cannot see anything give us a whatsapp or message. Chances are we can assign something to you before it is built!

🥳 - Started travelling the UK deploying Gaming Arenas and hosted ~40,000 players
🥳 - Partnered with some massive brands like ViewSonic Apple Kingston Technology & GOG.com to deliver a range of projects
🥳 - Welcomed 4 new Hybrid team members
🥳 - Fixed 247 Simple device issues for free ** Well, we tried to do it for free but people keep bringing us biscuits when we do that.**
🥳 - Ate 247KG of biscuits and survived; see above 😆
🥳 - Delivered around £5,000 of charitable donations
🥳 - Obtained Apple repair partner status
🥳 - Obtained Disability Confident employer level 2 status
🥳 - Had a great time doing what we love at the same time

Kingston Technology have been sending us lots of goodies recently so that we can run competitions at Comic Con Midlands Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen Comic Con Liverpool Comic Con Wales

We love the new flyers they sent us especially seeing we are managing to co-brand with companies much bigger than us because our gaming parties and Arenas are so unique!

Our new wheels have arrived!

They are designed to carry all of our screens any time we travel to run a gaming arena. Today we unbox and rebox everything at each event.

Fun fact : These pay for themselves by June 2027 based on the bookings we have already.

We expect they will half the amount of time it takes to load, setup, breakdown and unpack at each event meaning they will pay for themselves quickly and team Hybrid get an extra hour in bed before an event 😁😁😁

🎉 We’re proud to share that we’ve officially become a disability-confident certified business!

We are quite proud of the fact that the things we naturally do day-to-day in our business enable us to gain a recognised certification.

Fingers crossed, our level 2 should be achieved next month too :)

Did you know that when your mobile phone contract end date arrives that your bill wont automatically drop when your handset is paid off?

It gets worse, of you call to ask for a refund the terms and conditions state that the company is under no obligation to lower your bill once your handset is paid off. No refund for you even if you have been overpaying for years! 👿

So if you got a deal at £50 a month for an IPhone 15 2.5 years ago you are probably just handing free money to a mobile phone company!

Its surprising how many people dont know this so we thought we would make it today's post. We have been repairing phones all day today so is our topic of conversation in the workshop.

🫣 - If you have nothing to pay it means your contract already ended and you are overpaying

🫣 - Like your current phone? Just switch to a sim only plan with the same company you are with. Typically your bill goes from £35-60 down to £5-15 per month!

With the cost of everything just now this could be an easy way to put a few pennies back in your pocket!
