What a difference a year makes. 🥹

This time last year, Ella was starting her very first day at school and I shared the story behind the Just Elevate name.

Fast forward 12 months and she’s off to Year 1… a little bit taller, a lot more confident, but apparently the silly faces aren’t going anywhere 😂

Just Elevate has grown a lot in that year too, and moments like this are always a reminder of one of the biggest reasons I keep pushing it forward.

She keeps growing. The business keeps growing. We keep elevating ☝🏼

Proud dad today. ❤️

£99 per month → Top 3 on Google Maps. 📈

When we started, Lion Plumbing & Electrical’s Google Business Profile wasn’t even verified.

We got the fundamentals right, optimised the profile properly and kept working on it consistently.

Around 3 months later, they’re now Top 3 for “electricians in Blackpool”.

No huge SEO retainer. Just consistent Google Business optimisation for £99/month.

Want to know what I could do with yours? Drop me a message.

Two weeks ago, this business existed only as an idea and a business plan.

Today, it's ready to launch.

Over the past two weeks we've taken that idea and built everything needed to get GingerChef off the ground:

🌐 Website
📍 Google Business Profile
📱 Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn
🎨 Business cards
✅ One consistent brand across every platform

This is why I always say the foundations come first.

Before you spend money on advertising, make sure your business is ready for the customers you're trying to attract. Your website, Google presence, branding and social media should all work together to create trust from the very first impression.

Now GingerChef is ready to start growing, and I'm looking forward to following the journey.

If you're starting a new business, or your current online presence no longer reflects the quality of what you do, drop me a message and let's build it properly from the ground up.

Bit of a credit where it's due post...

One thing I'm always getting asked by clients (especially those with businesses of their own) is "Who does your website?" or "How are you always at the top of Google?" and the truth is... I haven't got a clue how any of that works! 😂

When I first started Lashes by Louise all those years ago I was completely overwhelmed. I didn't know what I actually needed, what was a waste of money or who I could trust. Like most people, I just wanted to focus on doing what I was good at.

Fast forward to now and I don't get involved with any of it.
Just Elevate look after my website, Google and everything behind the scenes, and I honestly don't need to think about it. Between work, the kids and everything else life throws at you, I simply don't have the time, or the interest, to try and work it all out myself.

They've just given my website a fresh new look which Im so so happy with, and if you watch the video attached you'll see I'm still sitting at the top of Google Maps when people search "Lashes Blackpool” which is all I need. I just concentrate on my clients and leave the rest to Just Elevate

So... for everyone that's ever asked me who I use, there's your answer and I couldn’t recommend enough for you to get in touch if you need the same.

Thank you, Just Elevate ❤️

This one makes me smile...

Before Performance Padel had even opened their first venue, Robin got in touch looking for help with their website, Google Business Profile and social media.

Since then I've been lucky enough to work alongside the team as they've continued to grow, and today they've announced their second venue in Kendal.

Seeing clients expand isn't just good for business, it's genuinely rewarding to know you've played a small part in the journey.

Massive congratulations to everyone at Performance Padel Clubs Excited to see what's next. 👏🎾

Most business owners know they have a Google Business Profile.

Far fewer know how Google actually understands their business.

Google doesn't automatically know what you do.

It builds its understanding from the information available across your profile, including your services, products, reviews, photos, posts and much more.

If important information is missing, outdated or unclear, it can affect both how your business is presented to potential customers and how confidently Google understands what you offer.

That's exactly why I'm offering a FREE Google Business Profile Review.

I'll personally review your profile and show you:

✔ What's working well

✔ What could be improved

✔ Opportunities you may be missing

✔ How your profile could better help Google understand your business

No pressure.
No obligation.
Just honest, practical advice.

📩 Send me a message if you'd like me to take a look.

Most businesses see a review as the finish line.

I see it as another opportunity.

Every time you reply to a review, you're adding more context about your business. Instead of simply saying "Thanks for your review," mention the service you carried out, the area you worked in (where appropriate), or refer back to the customer's experience.

Over time, these responses build a richer picture of your business for both Google and potential customers reading your profile.

For example, rather than:

"Thanks for your 5-star review!"

Try something like:

"Thanks for trusting us with your memorial restoration in Manchester. It was a pleasure to help, and we're delighted you were happy with the service."

It's a small change, but every review reply is another opportunity to reinforce what your business does and the quality of service you provide.

Don't waste that opportunity.

Most people think marketing starts with running ads.

I don't.

Recently, I spoke to a brand new business that was just about to spend £2,000–£3,000 per month on Google Ads.

After looking at their online presence, my advice was simple...

DONT START WITH THE ADS!

There was no Google Business Profile, no real social media presence, and the website wasn't built around the services they actually wanted to generate enquiries for.

So instead, we've gone back to the foundations.

✔️ A website built around the right services.
✔️ A Google Business Profile that's properly optimised.
✔️ Social media and LinkedIn set up consistently.
✔️ Then, once everything is in place, we'll move on to Google Ads.

I see this time and time again. Businesses invest in advertising before they've built the foundations to support it, and when the results don't meet expectations, it's often the ads that take the blame.

Good marketing isn't about rushing to the next tactic.

It's about getting the right things in place first.

Good marketing always starts with good foundations!

What are your thoughts? Do you think too many businesses jump straight into advertising?
