A Message from Computerden
It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Computerden will soon be closing our retail shop. The reasons are a mix of financial, family and health.
The world of repairs has changed. Devices are more complex and costly to fix, and understandably, many people now choose to replace rather than repair. Most devices just dont break as much as they used to which is great, just not for us
With our second child due to arrive in just a few weeks, I simply can’t risk pushing us further into financial uncertainty. When our first was born, the combo of sleep deprivation and the stress of running the shop led to me having seizures, which meant I couldn’t drive for a while—cue even more stress and a spiral of health issues.
This time around, something’s got to give—and since we definitely aren’t sending the baby back, it’s the shop that has to go. I just can’t afford to head down that road again—for my sake, and for my family’s.
The steps I’d need to take to keep the shop open would mean cutting corners on the quality of parts we use, and sacrificing precious time with my wife and kids—and neither of those are compromises I’m willing to make.
While the shop is closing, we’re not disappearing entirely. We’ll continue to support our remote customers, antivirus subscribers, and offer repairs from our home in Kirriemuir, along with callouts. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer walk-in help any longer. We will also be furthering our reach with mail in repairs.
We know this change means we’ll lose some of you as customers, but thank you, truly, for all the support over the years. It’s been an absolute privilege to serve this community.
