A wee bit of shinty on the workbench this week!

Made these two pieces as raffle prize donations for a local event next weekend, 3rd in printer.

First up is the two shinty players battling it out for the ball. Printed in black then dry brushed to bring out all the detail

Then something a wee bit different. A shinty ball wine bottle holder, battered and muddied up because a sparkling clean shinty ball just wouldn’t look right!

These can be adapted to pretty much any sport or hobby. Football, rugby, golf, running, cycling, fishing, dancing, whatever you have in mind. Doesn’t have to be a statue either. I can make models, wine holders, lamps and plenty of other weird and wonderful things.

If you’ve got an idea in your head, give me a shout and I’ll see if I can turn it into something.

Hopefully these two raise a few quid next weekend!

CHECK MATE…

Well, this has been a labour of love!

A 27-inch chess board inspired by the Scottish Highlands… and maybe a TV series that some of you will recognise. This is my own take on it though, and it’s still a work in progress.

The board alone is printed in 9 separate sections and takes over 3 full days to print before any finishing starts.

I’m pretty chuffed with how it’s looking.

I’ve also got a few other themed chess sets already in the plotting and planning stage… so watch this space!

What theme would you love to see next?

Check! This out!

Been playing with a new idea this week…

It’s inspired by a certain Highland time-travel story that many of you will probably recognise, but this is my own take on it. Still lots to do and plenty of tweaking before I’m happy.

The board alone is split into 9 sections and will take just over 3 days of printing, never mind the pieces. Worth it though if it comes together how it looks in my head.

This is very much a work in progress, so I’d love to know what you think so far.

I’ve also got a few other themed chess sets in the plotting and planning stage, so watch this space.

Another custom order finished and ready to head off to its new home.

This one was for a Border Terrier owner, turned into a wine bottle holder with a tree stump. I love doing these because no two are ever quite the same, and it’s always nice trying to capture the character of someone’s dog rather than just making another generic ornament. The single dog is generic and the two dogs are taken from a photo.

If you’ve got a dog, horse or pretty much any animal you’d like turned into a wine holder, lamp or sculpture, just send me a photo and I’ll see what I can come up with.

Run Baby Run…..

Inspired by the Ben Nevis Race, this one captures runners picking their way down the rocky path to the finish. I wanted it to have the look of a sculpture rather than lots of bright colours, so it’s been finished with a metallic dry brush to bring out all the detail.

This one is a statue, but it could just as easily become a book nook, book ends, a lamp or something completely different. That’s what I love about designing from scratch. One idea can become a whole range.

As always, I’d love to hear what you’d turn it into.

So what could she possibly be up to next?!

Think Fort William,
think Ben Nevis,
think ship to shore!

The shoreline we got married on and home to ‘the most photographed ship wreck’!

Coming soon!

What would you like to see in 3D print?!

Crazy Mutterfnk3r!!

This one won’t be appearing in the shop.

It’s a one-off I wanted to make for someone very special, my husband Davy. It recreates a real moment from a North Sea dive when a curious shark decided to interrupt a day’s work by giving him a slap on the head with its tail. Rather than panic, he laughed, told it where to go and carried on working.

The model has been designed from scratch and hand finished, with the seabed, subsea pipework and shark all telling part of the story. The bulb will go in the pipe behind the sharks head.

Although this one’s staying with us, it shows what’s possible. If you’ve got a memory, a career, a hobby or a special moment you’d love turned into a unique piece, I’d love to hear your ideas.

WIN AN ANGUS THE COO LAMP!

I’m giving away one of my brand new Angus the Coo lamps when the new design is finished. It’s a completely new design, and I can’t wait to show you the finished result. (Image below will be similar to what you get, we can make some alterations to make it more ‘you’).

Every Angus I make is unique, so there will only ever be one exactly like yours. It will be hand finished, fully wired, supplied with a bulb, pat tested, and ready to plug in.

The finished lamp will be worth between £70 and £120, depending on the final design.
