Postcards, business cards, flyers. Still an essential for businesses. Websites and social media are great, but you can’t pick them up and put them in your pocket. You can’t pin them to the noticeboard or stick them on the fridge. You can’t give them out in places to invite people to find you. Roller banners, not done one for ages. I used to do loads of them when I was in the old BNI days. This one was sent out today for Fiction Feedback for an event Dea is sponsoring. This week has been all about Great Uncle Wilf.
Not my Great Uncle Wilf, he is Hamish's Great Uncle. And no, I haven't sprung a random child or new husband on you. Hamish is my little cow mascot for our Ale & Gin Bar. Hamish started out as a bit of a laugh but he soon took on a persona of his own and quite a following. People actually collect the stuff! He has started to introduce family members, the latest being Great Uncle Wilf who "was t'station master up't Garsdale Head, back in't day when this were all fields lad"

He is the mascot for our summer long promotion, partnering with the Settle Carlise Railway. He will be popping up in various places and featuring on our promotional bottles and pump clips until October. If you want to know more, keep an eye on Bar 13 over the next few days.

Access2time is back and ready to go. A new look and a new site all set up and ready to do the business. A content heavy shop site, WordPress was the obvious choice to allow maximum content with a user friendly shop.

Suns out, camera is out! Golf club this morning for a few shots of the greens in the sunshine then a breezy visit to Settle Fire Station with the FireHose Tech team to photograph the testing truck in its new livery.

Paper, I love paper. There is something very nice about taking delivery of a freshly printed box of leaflets or brochures. Everything has been web-related recently, so it’s been great to work on something paper-oriented. This leaflet is part of the Visit Settle project, designed to be distributed further afield to bring people into town, where the rest of the brochures will then take over with more details and information about the local businesses.

Another recent launch, phase one of The Veteran Car Club. I’ve loved this project. I love the cars, I love the concept and the work we have done. Phase one is a rebuild of an old HTML site. It needed to be more user-friendly, more organised and responsive. Phase two will start shortly to create a membership section with automated subscriptions and renewals.

This week has been back to creating green smiley faces again. It’s been a while since I did any major SEO. But then three sites have all turned up at once. I love a bit of SEO, it ticks all my OCD boxes, getting little green smiles on my SEO and Readability boxes. There are a lot more elements to cover now, of course, with the GEO intervention that’s currently going on, so it means more things to tick off my list, but I’m good with that.
