What happens when a synth setup meets a jewellery box, kitchen drawer… and an orange? 🍊🎛️

For this Stylosette session, we experimented with turning a mix of synths, effects and everyday objects into something musical. Rings, bracelets, a watch, a spoon… even a crushed-up metal lid all became part of the performance.

Proof that almost anything can become an instrument if you’re curious enough. Which object do you think made the most interesting sound? 👀

From thrift store Stylophone experiments to the Gen X-2 🐰🎛️

We love seeing how .tv has brought an early video art project back to life, this time using the Stylophone Gen X-2 alongside VDMX by .

Their first electronic instrument was a Stylophone found at , which went on to feature in some of their earliest video experiments. Here, revisiting Pepper’s Ghost, an optical illusion that uses reflections to make images appear to float in space, with the Stylophone Gen X-2 adding a new sonic dimension.
tv work explores the intersection of electronics, synthesizers, light and optical effects, and you might have spotted some of it recently in Depeche Mode: M, where he created video art and Pepper’s Ghost reflection effects for the film.

Stylosette meets a milk frother?!🥛

A slightly unconventional studio setup putting the Stylosette to work alongside a Prophet-6, Ukulele, Minilab 37 and Chroma Console.

The Stylosette was hooked up to a second milk frother via the keypad common and keypad octave ports, then run through the Chroma Console to take things even further.

Proof that sometimes the best sounds come from experimenting with whatever you’ve got lying around… even if that happens to be two milk frothers and a tub of disinfectant wipes.
