WE'VE spent this weekend upgrading the hard drive in a customer Microsoft Windows 2016 Standard server.

We opted for the Samsung's PM893 SSD, which delivers performance up the maximum allowable for SATA attached drives: up to 560 MB/sec sequential access, and up to 98,000 IOPS for 4 kbyte random read access.

WE’RE upgrading the hard drive in this new Dell laptop before we set up in the customer’s home later this week.

Unusually, this laptop has space for a standard SSD and an M.2 SSD so the customer has the benefit of a 256GB SSD for the operating system and a 1TB SATA hard drive for data storage.
