If you use Sage 50 Accounts or Sage 50 Payroll to send emails via Outlook.com or Gmail, there's a critical update you need to know about. Microsoft and Google are making changes that could impact how you send emails from your Sage software.

Both Microsoft & Google are retiring Basic Authentication for their email services, which means:
Microsoft will stop supporting Basic Authentication for Outlook.com on 16 September 2024.
Google will follow, retiring Basic Authentication for Gmail on 30 September 2024.
If you send emails directly through Sage software using SMTP (via Outlook.com or Gmail), you will be affected. However, if you send emails using the Microsoft Outlook app, you're in the clearโthis change won't impact you.

To avoid disruptions, you may need to update your email settings in Sage 50. Make sure to review your settings before these changes take effect!
