None of these come from bad taste. They come from momentum - you’re busy, something needs doing, and the fastest option wins.
Number 3 is the one I see most, and the one I’ve done myself. When a business isn’t landing, a rebrand feels like action. It’s visible, it’s satisfying, and it postpones the harder conversation about whether the offer is actually clear.
I’ve had to say no to that project more than once. “I could take your money and make this look lovely, but you’ll be back in a year.”
The fix is almost never a new logo. It’s usually one sentence - the one that says who this is for and what changes for them.
Get that sentence right and everything downstream gets easier. Including the logo.
So: which one are you guilty of? Genuinely no judgement. I’ve done at least two.
