“RUN RABBIT RUN!… you’re gonna miss Drink and Draw!”

This was by far our favourite Drink and Draw activity we’ve come up with this year. 🐇

Back in April at Drink & Draw, we printed loads of frames from a wee rabbit run cycle and everyone got one to mess with. They could colour it, collage it, make it weird, make it cute, whatever they fancied. Then we scanned the whole lot back in and it turned into this running GIF that we projected on the wall.

The point of Drink & Draw is: you don’t need to turn up knowing what you’re going to draw (or feeling like you’re “good at drawing” 🙂‍↔️). We give you a simple task, a bit of gentle time pressure, and the chance to make something alongside other folk, so the blank page stops being so intimidating.

All upcoming Drink & Draw dates in Inverness (right up to Christmas would you believe!) are in the link in our bio 🔗 if you’re a keen bean, that’s where you’ll nab your spot.

Also: Drink & Draw is for hire. 🙌 If you want us to bring it to your event, festival, workplace, Christmas party, whatever!! Give us a shout via the website/contact form and we’ll chat it through. We can decide on an activity that fits what you need!

August is looking good in Inverness 🙂‍↕️

If you’re looking for things to do that are genuinely welcoming, at Isle of Riso, we do our very best to run low-pressure creative events and workshops where you don’t need any experience. Come along, make something with your hands, have a blether, and, most importantly, do something that’s bloody fun for once. They say it’s good for your health yano like.

Here’s your reminder that we do in fact have a newsletter 🙌 It’s where we tell you what’s actually been going on with us, because we all know THIS silly little app doesn’t keep you in the loop 📸 (and to be totally honest, it feels much safer to share honest updates via our newsletter, with our true supporters, than on social media.)

It is like a proper wee catch up from us. We share what’s coming up, what’s been a buzz for us recently, and often, what’s been a bit of a shambles. Plus we try and share any good creative things we’ve spotted locally and would recommend checking out.

We guarantee it is a nice break from social media and a great long-form read for your coffee break. We personally LOVE to save newsletters from Aafke Mertens, Daisy - Community + Content Strategy 📸🌱, and Scottish Contemporary Art Network for our own coffee breaks to really savour them. So we try to recreate that experience just for you!

Okay. We’ve been sitting on this for ages 🙃🐺

✨ Isle of Riso is 5 this year, and we’ve had a proper visual refresh, because the studio has grown, and it needed an identity that actually matches where we’re headed.

🖤 If you’re new here: Isle of Riso is a community-led creative studio in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. We run welcoming, low-pressure workshops and participatory creative events, and we also offer risograph printing, plus print/design support. For us it’s all about removing barriers and making creativity feel like it’s for you, even if you don’t feel “creative”. 🌿🖨️

🙏 Massive thank you to Fraser Robertson of for designing this. Truly phenomenal, how he got right under the skin of who we are and what we’re trying to build, and we’re so proud to finally share it properly. (sorry it took so long pal!)
