Mandatory Registration Proposed For UK Customs Intermediaries.

Customs agents, brokers, freight forwarders and express operators could be required to register with HM Revenue & Customs under proposals designed to raise standards across the UK intermediary market.

Third parties handled 80% of all international customs declarations cleared during 2025, while 99% of traders relied entirely on an intermediary to declare their trade.

MultiFreight MD Appointed Chairman of Felixstowe Port Users’ Association.

MultiFreight Managing Director and co-owner Ian Taylor has been appointed Chairman of the Felixstowe Port Users’ Association (FPUA), having served on the Association’s Executive Committee since 2023.

Ian originally joined the committee as the Category 5 Representative, representing businesses providing services to the Felixstowe port community, before taking over as Chairman at the Association’s AGM in June.

Body Cameras Introduced For Security Searches At Felixstowe.

According to BIFA, security officers at the Port of Felixstowe started wearing body-worn cameras during searches from Monday 17th August, as part of measures designed to improve safety and provide a clearer record of security interactions.

Body-worn cameras have become increasingly common across the security industry and have been used by police forces, ports police and security teams at other UK ports for several years.
