Shopify DotDev 2026 thatโs a wrap! ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐
Last week, our Founder, Tom and Operations Director, Amy, spent time in Toronto, Canada, invited by Shopify for DotDev 2026. Between partner events, merchant conversations and two packed conference days, one thing became incredibly clear.
The AI era isnโt coming. Itโs already here.
Over two days in Toronto, with more than 6,000 Shopifolk (๐ณ) and 2,000 tech and agency partners across 68 countries, one theme consistently came up: Agentic Commerce.
Not as another buzzword, but as the next evolution of how brands will be discovered, how customers will shop, and how commerce experiences will be built.
We also heard a lot about AEO, AI-powered shopping and search, B2B innovation and the future of Shopifyโs platform.
But one thing stood out to us.
The agencies that continue selling hours and deliverables will struggle. The agencies that help brands navigate AI, build systems, solve complex problems and create measurable outcomes will thrive.
Thatโs the shift!
AI isnโt replacing agencies but it raises the bar for what clients should expect from them.
It should free teams from repetitive work and create more time for strategy, creativity and genuinely valuable thinking.
Thatโs the opportunity weโre most excited about.
