The Loose Goose:
Letâs be honest: 2025 has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Itâs had more ups and downs than a toddler on a sugar rush, and there were moments where our patience was tested so hard we nearly considered moving to that deserted island. But then, a project comes along that reminds us exactly why we do what we do.
Back in July, we got a call from Kirsty and Mel. They were knee-deep in sawdust, transforming an old post office in Loose into something special. They didn't just want a logo; they wanted a vibe. They could already see a cool, relaxed sanctuary where you could have a high-powered business meeting or a "did you hear what happened to Karen at the weekend?" catch-up. So, The The Loose Goose Coffee Shop was hatched.
There is a certain level of irony in the fact that our first "brand strategy" meeting took place in a generic, high-street chain coffee shop. You know the onesâwhere the lighting is a bit too bright and the coffee tastes like it was only once near a coffee pot. Sitting there, we dissected exactly what they did not want to do but they could see what does work with a good brand identity. Kirsty and Mel were absolute legends, they didn't just "get" the branding processâthey embraced it. Their feedback was so constructive, timely and always open to ideas.
Our "One-Stop-Shop" Secret Weapon
This ride was made even smoother thanks to our usual partners in crime over at NDL Visual. While we obsess over font kerning and colour palettes, they were prepping the final deliverables such as: Signage that stops traffic. Workwear that looks like you didn't get dressed in the dark. Merchandise that people actually want to own.
When Kirsty or Mel asked, "Can you do...?" our answer was always a confident "Yes," followed by huddle with the NDL team. Having everything under one roof is basically the business equivalent of you finding that parking space right in front of the shop.
We firmly believe that simplicity is the ultimate goal. We didn't just slap a logo on a cup, with Kirsty and Mel's feedback, we built a consistent identity. From converting Pantone colours to the specific shade of paint on the walls, fonts, logos and icons to the texture of the loyalty cards on the counter, everything was designed to feel "Loose Goose." Itâs the polar opposite of those "plug and play" shopsâthis place has a soul.
â Your Mission
If you find yourself in the Loose/Maidstone area, do your tastebuds a favour and drop in. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur, a tea lover, or someone who can be bribed with a locally sourced pastry (like me!), itâs well worth the trip. Clear your afternoon. Tell your boss youâre "in a meeting." We won't tell.
Looking Ahead to 2026
We wish The Loose Goose nothing but soaring success in the New Year. Theyâve proven that with a great vision and the right team, you can turn an old post office into the heart of a community.
What about you? Does your business need a brand that actually connects with humans? Or are you still hiding behind a logo that was "good enough" in 2018?
Drop us a message in the New Year. Letâs grab a coffee (obviously we know a great place) and see how we can bring your vision to life.
