For today's try-it-out day, we have our Nintendo Wii on display again, only this time we have installed a software mod called WiiLink to restore online functionality to the Wii.
With WiiLink installed, you can once again access online channels such as the weather and news channels. WiiLink also adds new channels, such as the food channel, which after linking an account with the Wii, lets you order take from services such as Just Eat.
So come on in and try it out.

Today, we will be display our little laptop running Linux Lite. Those of you that are following us may remember that we planned to show this off last week, but we had to delay it to today due to some unexpected set-up issues.
Linux Lite is a light-weight OS with a friendly and easy to use interface. It can well on older or cheaper hardware that may struggle to run other operating systems. It comes preinstalled with all the programs the average user could need, including a web browser, word processor, and an image editor. Should you need something that is not preinstalled, then you can install it via the software manager.
So if you have an older computer that can't run Windows 11, you should come have a look and see if this could breath new life into it.

Originally, we had planned to have another non-windows OS on display today, but due to unexpected set-up issues, we are postponing that til next week.
Instead, today we will be displaying our PlayStation 4 again, so come into the shop and try it out.

Today, we have on display an Acer V3-112p, a small and very portable laptop. Normally, a computer like this would not be usable today, as it is not powerful enough to run Windows 11, and it would be slow when running Windows 10. However, there are several non-Windows operating systems that can keep this laptop running smoothly.
Today, we are showing one of those operating systems, called Lubuntu. It is a light-weight system that runs smoothly even on this older hardware, and it contains of the basic amenities you could need from a laptop, including word processors, image editing software, and web browsers.
So come into the shop today, and see how you can breath life into older hardware.

Our line-up for our second try-it-out week has been decided, and can now be viewed at www.dragonbyte-repairs.co.uk/try-it-out.

This week will have a PlayStation 4 on display on Tuesday, and on Thursday and Saturday, we will have an Acer V3-112p laptop running two different light-weight but user friendly alternatives to Windows.

And for the last try-it-out day of this week, we have a lovely refurbished Nintendo Wii Console.
Although Nintendo has stopped supporting the console in favour of newer systems, the console and it's accessories still work and there are many fan projects to restore online functionality to console.
We have a good selection of accessorises and games for sale, so come in and try them out.

Today is our second Try It Out Day of the week, and today we have a refurbished PlayStation 1 Console out for you to try.
Although on the older side, the PlayStation 1 is still a good console with plenty of games avaliable in second-hand stores, including ours.
