Today was one of those behind-the-scenes automation wins that makes a real difference.
We tightened up a billing workflow that pulls fresh supplier data, compares it against recurring billing, highlights increases and decreases, creates an approval pack, updates only approved recurring templates, and then checks that nothing unexpected was created.
The important bit is not just the automation.
It is the control around it:
👉 Fresh data pulled before any decision
👉 Reconciliation before changes
👉 Approval before live updates
👉 Recurring templates only
👉 Audit checks after every write
👉 Monthly run now scheduled to stop at approval
That is the kind of automation I like: useful, repeatable, and boring in all the right places.
Because when automation touches billing, it should be clever enough to help, but disciplined enough not to get carried away.
