Our customer currently requires regular maintenance visits on their case sealers. However, the primary cause of the issue lies with the tape being used rather than the equipment itself.
The low-quality acrylic adhesive tape is causing excessive adhesive transfer, with the glue sticking to the rollers on the tape head instead of bonding effectively to the cartons. This leads to contamination of the tape head components, reduced sealing performance, and increased maintenance requirements.
In contrast, when using our 28-micron polypropylene hot melt tape on the same equipment, no such issues are observed. The adhesive performs as intended, bonding cleanly to the cartons without residue build-up on the rollers. As a result, equipment reliability improves and ongoing maintenance costs are significantly reduced.
