ICS2 is changing how goods move into the EU 📝

Safety and security information must now be complete and accurate before departure, not addressed later at the border. This applies to EU-bound movements by road, rail or RoRo, including traffic from Great Britain into the EU.

The quality of information used for the Entry Summary Declaration is critical, including:
🔹 Clear goods descriptions
🔹 Correct commodity codes
🔹 Consistent documentation

Missing or inconsistent information can lead to delays before arrival.

Changes Ahead for Duty-Free E-Commerce 📦

The EU is removing the customs duty exemption for e-commerce parcels valued up to €150.

From 2026, low-value online purchases from non-EU countries will face new customs charges, with further digital customs changes coming in 2028.

What does this mean?
✔️ A €3 customs duty per item, based on commodity code
✔️ Multi-item orders may face multiple duty charges
✔️ Increased customs checks to prevent under-declaring and split shipments

These changes may also affect e-commerce shipments into Northern Ireland, where EU customs rules apply for goods.

For e-commerce and B2C importers, 2026 is a key milestone. Preparation now is essential❗
