We love hearing what our clients think about working with us. Here’s what Wokingham Borough had to say…

"Your team always responded to our comments swiftly and promptly, and produced drafts of high quality. This was no easy task given the technical and complex nature of the document."

Like we do with all of our research reports, we've produced an easy read version of our Annual Disability and Activity Survey report summary so that more people can access this important information.

Easy Read is an accessible format used by people with a learning disability and other people who have difficulty with standard information. It is a way of translating difficult information and making it easier to understand. Easy Read information uses easy words in short sentences, with pictures to help explain the words.

We've also produced a BSL video highlighting the key points from the report. You can find the full report, executive summary, easy read version, and BSL video on our website.

A good question to ask before publishing anything…

Would someone know what this means without Googling it?

‘Equivalised income’ is an example of technical language that many people may not be familiar with.

Using clear, everyday words can make information easier for everyone to understand, not just people who use Easy Read.

Accessible communication helps more people understand important information.

Why should organisations provide accessible versions of their information, like ?

⭐️ It enables more people to engage with their information.

⭐️ It shows that they respect and value their service users.

It benefits them to get input from more people, so that they make decisions that meet everyone’s needs.

Welcome to our new Team Spotlight series!

We know we don’t often show the faces behind the screens writing your Easy Read… so we thought we’d get to know you more.

This week’s Spotlight is on one of our Easy Read writers Meg:

‘Hi I’m Meg and I’m an Easy Read Technical Writer at Easy Read Online. I’ve been doing this job for around 4 years now - but it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long!

Working at Easy Read Online is so special to me because of the positive impact it has on the lives of many people.

I love working closely with clients to achieve a high quality and accessible piece of Easy Read that meets both their needs and the needs of end users. I am also a big fan of discovering and tackling new and exciting projects that we have not translated into Easy Read before - my dream is an Easy Read cookbook!

In my spare time I try to keep as active as possible and my current obsessions are spin classes and yoga - but on a more chill day I like coffee walks with my friends and anything crafty.’

Next week Meg will be taking us along on a day of her life working at Easy Read Online - stay tuned!

This week we are celebrating Learning Disability Week 2026!

From breaking down barriers to making sure everyone has a voice, our blog post explores why visibility is so important for people with a learning disability.

After all, if people are seen, heard and valued by everyone around them, this can help them feel safer and supported to live happy and healthy lives.

Many people find visual information easier to follow and understand, especially those with a learning disability.

Our illustration style was developed with our local mencap group to be accessible and as close to a photograph as possible. Here are examples of some illustrations we have created for our recent work with clients.
