Our Founder Faye is speaking at Ideas Fest! šŸ’›

On Thursday 10th September, she’ll be joining a brilliant panel to talk about going ā€œFrom First Venture to Full-Time Founderā€ and the lessons she’s learned since taking part in Young Enterprise.

Faye:

ā€œMy first experience of entrepreneurship was through Young Enterprise while I was at university. Years later, after 12+ years working in travel, I took the leap to build Sensified Spaces full-time.

There have been plenty of lessons between those two points, from starting with an idea and figuring things out as I went, to building a team, developing the technology, working with some incredible organisations and learning what it actually takes to turn an idea into a business.

I’m really looking forward to sharing some of that journey alongside Sarah Porretta, Conor Warren, James Eder and Kerry Easter.ā€

A new Sensified partnership 🧔

We’re really excited to welcome Shakespeare North Playhouse to the Sensified Spaces journey!

Shakespeare North Playhouse has already put accessibility at the heart of its venue, and now we’ll be working together to look more closely at the sensory experience too.

Through lived experience, sensory insights and practical recommendations, we’ll explore how the experience can be made more comfortable and accessible for neurodivergent visitors and anyone who experiences sensory sensitivities.

For us, sensory accessibility isn’t about getting everything perfect overnight. It’s about listening, learning and taking meaningful steps towards creating spaces where more people feel comfortable, confident and able to enjoy what’s there.

We’re so excited to have Shakespeare North Playhouse on the journey with us. šŸŒ…

Welcome to Sensified Spaces, Shakespeare North Playhouse! 🧔

Thinking ahead about what helps you feel comfortable can make airports and flying feel a little more manageable…

What’s one thing you always pack or do before a flight?

JLA is supporting more sensory-inclusive travel with a dedicated Sensory Space and a virtual walkthrough passengers can explore before they fly. šŸ™Œ

The Sensory Space, developed with ABM, Autism Adventures and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, gives children and sensory seekers a supportive environment before their journey. The virtual walkthrough lets passengers and families see it in advance and know what to expect on the day.

Every neurodivergent person experiences the world differently, some need quiet, low-stimulation spaces, others benefit from sensory input to help them regulate. Having options, and being able to see them in advance, reduces uncertainty and gives people more confidence.

LJLA is the first airport to be part of the Sensified Spaces journey, and we’re so excited to have them onboard šŸ’›

Your can watch the virtual walkthrough and find information on how to access their sensory space via their website!

Have you flown from John Lennon Airport? Did you know they had sensory support in place? Let us know in the comments!šŸ‘‡

Less guesswork. More confidence. āœˆļø

Visiting somewhere new can feel exciting, but when you don’t know what to expect, it can also feel overwhelming!

A little preparation can make a big difference. From checking photos and maps to choosing a quieter time to visit, knowing what’s ahead can help make unfamiliar places feel a little more manageable. And remember everyone’s sensory needs are different, what works for one person might not work for another.

šŸ’¬ What’s one thing you always check before visiting somewhere new?

šŸ‘‡ Share your tip in the comments your advice might help someone else feel more prepared for their next visit.

šŸ”Ž We’re working towards a world where sensory information is easier to find, so people can make informed choices before they arrive.

Save this post for your next visit and share it with someone who might find it useful šŸ’›

Accessibility is about more than physical access…

For many neurodivergent people and those with sensory sensitivities, loud music, bright environments and busy crowds can all contribute to feeling overwhelmed!

That’s why small, thoughtful adjustments can make such a meaningful difference šŸ™Œ

We’re proud to be working alongside Liverpool ONE Official to help shine a ā€˜Sensory Spotlight’ on the support they have in place: sensory bags and dedicated Quiet Hour are examples of how creating calmer, more supportive environments can help people feel more comfortable, confident and included when visiting!

Have you used Liverpool ONE’s sensory bags or visited during Quieter Hour?
We’d love to hear about your experience, let us know in the comments šŸ‘‡

Have you visited M&S Bank Arena Liverpool recently?

We’re working with Liverpool Experience Campus to better understand how this space actually feels…

Because for many people, it’s things like sound, lighting and how busy it is that shape the whole experience.

It takes just 1–2 minutes to share your experience, and your feedback will help others feel more prepared before they visit šŸ’¬

We’ve started popping up around Liverpool šŸ‘€

If you spot us, give the QR a scan and let us know how that space feels — it helps us understand how it’s truly experienced.

And if you do see one… we’d love a selfie šŸ’›
