It's Earth Day 🌍
This year's theme is "Our Power, Our Planet". The idea that climate progress runs on what people do every day, not what's promised in a 2050 roadmap.
Which is basically cycling's whole brand 🚲
London already saves hundreds of thousands of tonnes of CO₂ every year, mostly because people ride instead of drive. A lot of that happens despite the infrastructure, not because of it.
The biggest thing keeping more Londoners off a bike isn't fitness, fitness clothes or the weather. It's not trusting the bike will still be there when they come back 💔
So today's Earth Day ask is a tiny one. If you look after a building, a workspace, a campus or a high street, have a proper look at your cycle parking today. Is it the bit of your climate commitment you'd be genuinely proud of?
