When you understand the CO₂ levels in your space, you get some really powerful insights.

High CO₂ concentrations can make people feel sluggish, reduce concentration, and impact decision-making. By monitoring and acting on environmental data, organisations can ensure rooms are healthy, productive spaces all year round.

With the right data, decisions become proactive. You can optimise layouts, plan upgrades strategically, reduce energy usage, and even improve air quality, all while supporting your teams and your bottom line. What a breath of fresh air!

Two men sat around a table, discussing a hot topic: how to make offices greener without a headache.

“Energy bills are through the roof,” says one.
“True,” replies the other, “but if we start with small changes, the impact soon adds up. And don’t forget analytics. They can tell us which spaces are used and which are empty, so we’re not cooling or lighting rooms unnecessarily.”

Okay, so that conversation didn't actually just happen and it's just an excuse to share a pic of Pete and Mike. But it's also a reminder that sustainable, efficient workplaces come from smart decisions backed by insight, not just big gestures.

From repurposing AV equipment to monitoring CO₂ levels, even subtle changes can reduce environmental impact, improve employee experience, and save money. It’s about being intentional, collaborative, and thoughtful in how we design and manage spaces. And we're here to help.

What small steps have you taken to make your workspace greener?

What if saving money and helping the environment were the same decision?

Second Life AV sits at the intersection of cost efficiency and sustainability, and that’s exactly why more organisations are exploring it.

Every year, large volumes of perfectly usable AV equipment are removed during office upgrades or relocations. Not because it’s broken, but because spaces are changing. Instead of sending this equipment to landfill, refurbishing and redeploying it gives it a second life....and keeps valuable materials in circulation.

The environmental impact is significant. Manufacturing new AV equipment requires energy, raw materials, and global logistics. By reusing what already exists, organisations reduce carbon footprint, cut down on electronic waste, and support more responsible procurement practices.

And the financial benefits? Just as compelling. Refurbished equipment often delivers excellent performance at a fraction of the cost of buying new, freeing up budget for other priorities.

Sustainability doesn’t always require sweeping change. Sometimes it starts with making better use of what you already have.

Did you know we’ve designed our own bit of kit to help monitor CO₂ levels?

It started with a simple question: how can we help organisations create healthier meeting spaces without overcomplicating things?

CO₂ levels might not be something people talk about every day, but they have a surprisingly big impact on how we feel at work. When CO₂ levels rise, concentration drops, fatigue increases, and meetings can feel harder than they should. In fact, studies have shown that higher CO₂ levels can reduce cognitive performance and decision-making ability.

That’s why we designed our own monitoring solution, to give organisations real-time visibility into air quality and room conditions.

Healthy air isn’t a luxury. It's part of creating workplaces where people can focus, think clearly, and do their best work.

Have you ever walked into a meeting room and instantly felt tired or sluggish? Chances are, CO₂ levels had something to do with it. If you want to know more, drop a note for Marc in the comments.

If you're planning an AV refresh – or sitting on decommissioned kit you're not sure what to do with – we have something worth your attention.

Workspace AV has launched its AV Buyback Programme. Trade in your old equipment and receive credit directly off your new project invoice. Premium-tier kit like video bars, large-format displays, and control processors can fetch £150–£600 per unit. A typical 10-room office refresh could offset over £7,000 in project cost.

Here's how it works:
→ We assess your existing equipment (on-site or remotely)
→ You receive a trade-in credit offer based on our published pricing tiers
→ Credit is applied directly to your new project invoice
→ Old equipment is collected on installation day – zero extra logistics

Every engagement also includes a full ESG Documentation Pack: WEEE compliance certificates, certified data erasure records, and a carbon impact statement, ready to drop straight into your sustainability reporting.

Most companies upgrading their meeting rooms are leaving thousands of pounds on the table.
Not because they're careless. Because nobody told them their old AV kit had value.

Video bars, large-format displays, Crestron processors, Barco ClickShare units... these don't become worthless the moment you decide to upgrade. They become trade-in credit.

Our Second Life AV buyback scheme works like this:
→ Tell us what you're decommissioning
→ We price it within 48 hours
→ We collect on the same day your new install goes in
→ You receive trade-in credit towards your project

If you're planning an AV upgrade, get a free buyback quote before you sign anything.

What hybrid work exposed about AV....

For years, AV was treated like furniture. You bought it, installed it, and forgot about it.
Then hybrid work happened and suddenly, the meeting room became the most critical piece of workplace infrastructure you owned.

Here's what it exposed:
✨Rooms built for presence, not performance.
Conference rooms designed for everyone being in the same space fall apart the moment half your team is remote. Poor camera angles, inadequate microphones, no echo cancellation. The person dialling in can't follow the conversation. The person presenting can't see who's in the room.

✨Technology that wasn't designed to work together.
A screen from one brand, a video bar from another, a booking system from a third. Nobody integrated them properly. The result? IT tickets. Frustrated employees. Meetings that start 10 minutes late because nobody can figure out how to share their screen.

✨A gap between investment and experience.
Businesses spent thousands on hardware and almost nothing on the experience of using it. Premium equipment, poor outcomes.

Hybrid work didn't create these problems. It revealed them.

The organisations getting ahead now aren't just buying better kit. They're rethinking how people connect across locations, and designing AV environments that actually support the way their teams work.

That's where we come in. At Workspace AV, we help businesses across the UK design, install, and support AV environments built for the modern workplace, not the one from five years ago.
If your meeting rooms aren't working as hard as your people, let's talk.

When less tech delivered better results 👇

We consistently see that over-engineered systems slow meetings down, frustrate users, and introduce avoidable points of failure, where time is wasted simply trying to make the room work.

By designing spaces around how people actually meet and collaborate, we deliver solutions that are intuitive, consistent, and dependable.

This approach was clearly demonstrated in our recent London install. Their existing meeting spaces were reliant on a centralised distribution system, meaning multiple rooms were interconnected and exposed to a single point of failure. Combined with complex control interfaces, even starting a simple Webex or Microsoft Teams meeting became unnecessarily difficult.

Through close consultancy and redesign, Workspace Audio Visual implemented standalone Microsoft Teams Rooms, removing racks of core equipment that were not required for the client’s needs. The result was a more resilient environment, dramatically simplified user operation, and meeting spaces that just work, proving that less technology, when correctly applied, can deliver far better outcomes.

Planning an AV refresh? The first step shouldn't be a quote for new kit.
It should be a valuation of what you already have.

Most organisations go straight to spec and budget without accounting for the trade-in value sitting in their current install. That's money left on the table before the project even starts.

We price your existing AV within 48 hours. No obligation, no commitment, just a clear picture of what your old kit is worth before you sign anything.
