When flew over from the US with a film crew of 10 to visit my salon, it was one of those moments that makes you pause.
But the story didn’t start there.
It started during Covid, when every salon owner was trying to protect their team, reassure their guests, and somehow keep the business moving forward.
We implemented QR payments as a safety decision. It wasn’t about innovation for the sake of it. It was about reducing contact, removing friction at checkout, and creating a safer experience for everyone walking through our doors.
What followed was something I never expected. We went on to achieve the largest QR sales volume in the UK within our category, and PayPal wanted to document how we had done it.
Cameras, interviews, a full production crew, all because of one systems decision made during a time of uncertainty.
Throughout my journey running my salon, I have always been committed to building infrastructure that supports my team and elevates the guest experience. Systems should reduce pressure, not create more of it.
That belief is exactly why I have since dedicated myself to building Jack AI and our AI Receptionist.
Not to replace humans.
Not to remove connection.
But to support salon teams when they are fully booked, mid service, and simply cannot answer the phone.
Technology should serve people. Always.
And that is what I will continue to stand for.
