Great tips from Scholastic focusing on helping children improve their comprehension when reading:
πŸ‘‰ Tip #1: Have them read aloud. This encourages them to go slower, which gives them more time to process what they read and in turn improves reading comprehension. Plus, they're not only seeing the words β€” they're hearing them, too! You can also take turns reading aloud.
And that’s why we're building Read Together - a software that encourages children to read aloud. Visit our page to find out more and sign up to get access to our prototype:

Did you know that reading aloud is really important?
There is growing evidence showing that reading out loud has important cognitive benefits and is helpful for children who are just beginning to read as well as more experienced readers. A recent study found that reading aloud rather than silently improves long term memory, which means your child is more likely to better remember what they've just read.
Plus, listening to your child reading out loud can help make sure they are not skipping words and that they are reading accurately. It is also a great opportunity to identify which words children might be struggling to read or are simply unfamiliar with.
