Power Walk

Power Walk Power Walk is a lower limb exoskeleton that we will be designing and manufacturing for our MEng project.

Our research is aimed at trying to make the lower limb exoskeleton that can be worn every day for long periods of time with minimal physical input from the user. To turn our idea into an actual product, we created aims that need to be achieved to make our product stand out from the competitors. These include:
• Decrease weight: A decrease in weight will make the exoskeleton more comfortable to wea

r for long periods of time and it will also decrease the load on the motors. This will be completed by looking at the available materials and choosing one that is cheap and light while being strong.
• Increase power/running time: By increasing the running time of the exoskeleton the wearer can use the lower limb for extended period of times without worrying about running out of power. This will be achieved by implementing devices that will harness electricity from the wearer and increasing the efficiency of the electronics. This will extend the battery range without increasing the size of the battery.
• Decrease cost: A decrease in cost will make the exoskeleton more affordable for low class and middle class over 65s. This will be done by carefully choosing the materials and electronics for our requirements.
