A great rehearsal space is about more than what happens on stage.

This week we're taking a closer look at the Social Spaces at Subfrantic Studios and the role they play in supporting creative teams throughout their time with us.

Whether you're taking a break between rehearsals, catching up with your team, grabbing a coffee, or finding a quiet corner to work, we've created spaces designed to make long production days more comfortable.

From our Green Room and breakout areas to the little details that help the building feel welcoming and creative, we believe the environment around the work is just as important as the work itself.

After all, some of the best ideas, conversations and problem-solving moments happen away from the console.

Take a look around on our website.

What goes into an audio package for a European tour?

For Bury Tomorrow summer 2026 run, we supplied a complete touring package designed to give the team a consistent setup from rehearsals through to shows across Europe.

At FOH, Dave Billings was mixing on an ALLEN & HEATH dLive CTi1500, with a dLive C1500 on monitors, supported by DM48U and DM0U MixRacks with DX168 units for stage patching.

The FOH setup also included Waves Audio integration with an Extreme Server, alongside Dante for external recording and virtual soundcheck.

Beyond the control package, we supplied stage power, mic stands, cables and the supporting equipment needed to keep everything moving from venue to venue.

From building the stage and plugging in the first mic to showtime, here's a look at some of what goes on behind the scenes.

Notting Hill Carnival 2026. 2 days of Carnival madness. Feathers, Dancing, Music and Rum Punch!
We are proud to provide the Sound system on the float for Heritage Roadshow for another year.

This year is a very special one, Notting Hill Carnival's 60th birthday, and we've been involved for over 30 of them.

Watch this space for some throwback posts, but this year we're celebrating by putting out the biggest rig we ever have on a truck with our brand new .acousticsofficial L2 system.

From rehearsals at Subfrantic to stages across Europe.

This summer saw Bury Tomorrow head out on their European tour following rehearsals in our studios, taking a full control package supplied by Subfrantic on the road.

The run took in everything from huge festival stages at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park to some incredible smaller venues across Europe, including the spectacular Schloßbergbühne Kasematten in Graz, Austria.

Alongside the rehearsal and equipment package, our own Dave Billings was out on the road doing what he's done with Bury Tomorrow for the past 11 years, mixing Front of House and helping deliver their live sound night after night.

A brilliant run of shows and a great example of how our work can start with rehearsals at Subfrantic and continue all the way through to the live stage, with no changes in equipment or the team servicing it.

Take a look at some of the highlights from the tour.

Spring 2026 saw us back in Austin, Texas to support British Music Embassy as part of SXSW 2026.

The British Music Embassy has a long history of helping showcase the next generation of talent, with previous performers including Florence and the Machine, Sam Fender, Little Simz, The 1975 and many more.

SXSW 2026 continued that tradition, providing emerging artists with the opportunity to perform in front of a global audience of music fans, media and industry professionals.

This year's line-up featured another fantastic selection of artists, helping demonstrate the depth, diversity and creativity of the UK's music scene.

We're proud to have played our part in another successful year.

Thanks so much! A great product.

Thanks so much! A great product.

Comments like this are exactly why Spektral exists; our aim was to put a great product in fellow engineer's hands at a great price.

Big shout out to James Fermer and the folks at Subfrantic - and an L2 system ... I'm very jealous!

As part of our new website spotlight series, this week we’re introducing Studio B.

Our second largest studio space, Studio B is a firm favourite with many of the artists who visit us. At 51 square metres, it’s spacious without losing its cosy feel, combining practical rehearsal functionality with a more creative and comfortable environment.

The room is acoustically treated, air conditioned, fully customisable with integrated lighting, and connected into the wider building via Cat 6, copper lines and our in-house CCTV and NDI network.

Like all of our spaces, it’s designed to adapt around the project. Rehearsals, sectional work, training sessions, production prep, hair and makeup, or simply somewhere comfortable to create.

Take a look around the full Studio B gallery on our new website.

Earlier this year, we were back in Austin supporting the British Music Embassy at SXSW 2026.

One of the things that makes the British Music Embassy so special is how different each day feels.

Across the week, the venue was transformed by a series of takeovers, partnerships and curated showcases, each bringing its own audience, atmosphere and perspective to the programme.

From industry-led events and emerging talent showcases through to the hugely popular Notting Hill Carnival takeover, every session added something different to the story of SXSW Austin 2026.

It's a brilliant reflection of the diversity, creativity and energy that exists across the UK music scene, and one of the reasons we keep coming back year after year.

We'll be sharing a few more moments from Austin over the coming weeks.

Like most companies we’re always keen to post about our big and impressive work, but for us we’re just as proud of the work we do in our local community.

We’ve been supplying the stage, audio, and lighting for Warlingham School & Sixth Form College annual Warlstock festival since its inception. Held at the school every summer, it’s a great opportunity for the students (and teachers) to show what they’ve been working on in terms of live solo, group, and band performances before the school breaks up for summer.

The event also highlights the strength of support that the school shows for drama, music, and the arts at a time when these are all fighting to prove their relevance in an education system increasingly laden with financial and other stresses.

This year we supplied an ALLEN & HEATH dLive setup with a d&b audiotechnik PA system and wedges, with Shure UK radio mics, with engineers and a small lighting rig.

A big thank you to everyone we worked with, and to Warlingham School and Sixth Form College for continuing to place such importance on live music and the arts. We hope you enjoyed the festival as much as we did!

We have a new junior role to fill supporting our recent expansion and helping us prepare for our plans in the next couple of years.

This exciting position will be split between site where you’ll be building and de-rigging gigs and events, and our warehouse in SE London where you’ll be prepping, de-prepping, and learning about the equipment we use.

Ideally we’re looking for someone audio focussed, but having a grounding and an interest in the other areas we cover would be a strong bonus.

You will need to have had some experience working in the industry, but this is a role that is designed for someone looking to learn. Most of that learning will happen on the job and in the warehouse, but the successful applicant will be invited to attend most of the training sessions we run here and will be sent on external training courses when relevant.

Applicants will need to be legal to work in the UK, and having a driving license will be a real help.

To apply please email a CV and some covering information about you, your experience, and the sort of career you’d like to [email protected].
