🎄✨ Festive deals are everywhere but so are the scams!
Here are a few quick sense checks from HyperJar that we think are worth keeping in mind leading up to Christmas:
🎣If a discount looks unusually generous - take a moment, real deals exist but the unbelievable ones usually have a catch.
🔍Search for the website yourself and check if the deal is actually on there.
🕵️ Don’t rely on the link you were sent. If it’s real, it’ll be on the retailer’s own website.
🤏Small details matter. A strange URL, odd spelling or an email that doesn’t quite look right is often enough reason to step back.
⏱️Ignore unrealistic countdown clocks built to hurry you. Pressure is a tactic, not a feature of a genuine offer.
❌No legitimate retailer will ask you for PINs, passwords or security codes for another account.
