We're back with another customer project feature! Today, we’re highlighting Westminster City Council’s Paddington Green & Little Venice Canalside Public Realm Improvements.

Last year, the Council asked the community about their experiences of the area. Now, following that early engagement, a set of initial design ideas has been developed—and they want your views.

This feedback will help shape the next stage of proposals for these much-loved spaces.

The government’s Planning & Infrastructure Bill has been published, and much of the planning community appears to agree that it is needed and sensible, albeit with some of the detail to be debated.

One of the drivers of the bill has been the need for speed. In this context, there are a couple of fundamental questions I’ve been mulling over: What is the ‘purpose' of community engagement / involvement in planning when there is a stronger presumption of development? And how can technology help realise more value from the process?

Today is Global ✨Community Engagement Day✨, a day focused on organisations, individuals, and businesses better engaging with their community.

At Commonplace we have spent over 10 years creating the tools for local authorities to better communicate with citizens and put them at the centre of place-based decision processes.
