The idea for Perlego was born when our founders, Gauthier and Matt, were struggling with the cost of textbooks as students. From that first search for a more affordable alternative, Perlego has grown into a business that is breaking down the barriers to education for students globally.

“If it is possible to cut a word out,
always cut it out.”

One of the greatest challenges in writing is cutting down your hard-earned words to meet a specific word count (especially when you have a tight deadline).

Here are a 6 quick tips to help you hit your target, without losing what’s important:

1. Ditch unnecessary words
2. Delete "The"
3. Erase “That”
4. Remove Adverbs and Adjectives
5. Cut out Conjunctions
6. Choose an Active Voice

Meet and Emini: The winners of our Future Leaders in Tech scholarship in the USA.
These two inspiring students will each receive $5,000 paid directly to their tuition and have the opportunity to join our talent pool.

Sarvani is a Computer Science student from Missouri.
She’s the founder of ‘Hidden Dream’, a community created to raise awareness of the struggles faced by immigrants and uplift those affected by elements out of their control,

As the tech and outreach director, her advocacy has contributed to Visa Dreamers now being included in the Dream and Promise Act, a bill that will allow thousands of Dreamers to have a pathway to citizenship.

Emini is also a Computer Science student based in Tennessee.
In 2019 he joined ‘Beyond The Five’, a nonprofit helping students achieve academic success, with a goal to stimulate the curiosity that lies within all students, regardless of financial situation, geographic location, or academic background.
